Frank Lampard - manager rumours

If the club want to redeem themselves after the fiasco of last season and make a statement of intent then we should be talking to him.
Done ok everywhere he’s been in his short managerial career.
I’d take him tomorrow over the dross that’s getting mentioned.

As Touker would say, he wouldn’t get out of bed for what we will pay

He's taking over at SJP after Beheddie gets sacked next week for spunking £450 million and winning fuck all.

Canny be having Lampard me like. I’d rather us go for a young assistant type who has learnt the game. A McKenna type at Ipswich.

Birmingham have just appointed the Tottenham assistant manager as their new manager. CV has Liverpool, Swansea, Celtic, Leicester on it. All in big roles

That’s the way to go for me

Hes far too educated to even think of coming into this madhouse, i dont get the total anger of some towards him though as his record stands up to scrutiny when you actually analyse it.
What's become the regular gobshites on here giving it large about a man whose playing career would out class anyone
who has ever worn our club colours. Bust his nuts to become a better player and has just not done that badly as a manager to warrant the know it all bile that is getting thrown around on these pages. But as we know all the football geniuses need to tell us exactly why he's not qualified - " he's shite, bottom of the barrel, clubs bust, never going again" and on and on. I agree the process that has been used is undermining our confidence for the new season but at the end of the day we need someone who fits what we have here and what can be achieved here. Our crowds and the general set up of the club probably over egg what is available at the club at present and we need someone who's hungry enough to want to work within the constraints the club offers. Frank could just be that man.

Great point. Sunlun tend to do well with leaders who have big personalities. Reid, Quinn, Phillips, Keane, Bally, Big Mic, Fat Sam, Big Dick, TM.
Shrinking violets who are scared of their own press conferences tend to struggle a wee bit here.
The stronger personalities turn our pressure into an advantage on a match day . The shrinking violets get crushed under it and look to blame everyone but themselves.

Wouldnt be the worst appointment and puts us on the map (although not sure thats a good thing with these arseholes in charge). Did well at Derby and Chelsea and ultimately couldnt turn Everton around. So whilst he`s not set the world alight as a manager he has had some of the hardest jobs in football to do to be fair to him and he`s a "name" which always helps when getting people in.

Love (not necessarily here) when people let him off with his Everton spell with stuff like "It was a mess at Everton, impossible job". That's been the case at Sunderland for over a decade but it doesn't mean the likes of Simon Grayson is actually a great manager.
A bit of a facile comparison. Grayson took a side that had just been relegated (and still had some “decent” players for the level) and did even worse. A win percentage of 18% for a team that had been relegated is a hell of a lot worse

Not defending Lampard, I don’t want him.

I'd be happy with him tbh. Did great at Chelsea when they were under transfer embargo, kept everton up. Think he could do well here, definitely not as tragic as people make out to be, the memes don't help his case and are pretty funny though

This. He's not top of my list but I think people view him a bit unfairly. Did well at Derby and then Chelsea when they were under embargo I believe? People forget he was in a Championship play off final and played good football with a side who regressed massively after he left.
