I saw them a year or two ago at the Arena and felt the same. The only way I could explain it was that they were performing behind an invisible curtain. Suggs just doesn’t seem very genuine about the whole thing anymore, just seems to be going through the motions. The other band members just kept their heads down and got through their work. It was curiously sterile.Enjoyed it but I I felt Madness were a bit 'perfunctory'! Hit after hit but missing something, cant quite put my finger on it.. Sound wasn't great either. Squeeze always top notch.
