Her album is out 17th May. Portishead are one of my all time favourites. Really excited to witness her voice live. Last album she released was a live performance with a Polish Orchestra. Bill Ryder Jones (not Billy as I put before) is doing the tour as a duo with a cellist.
That'll be a topper gig mate.Beths song I heard on 6music was fantastic.The cellist lass with Bill is great n'all(she was with him when I saw him down lpool).Sure they are related.
This week got Ist Ist down York on Friday, Interzone festival at City Hall Saturday, which is Peter Hook, the wedding present, the farm, theatre of hate and tom hingley, then Zutons on Sunday at Wylam.

I went to see The Farm at Newcastle Mayfair around 1991. I was underage and door staff wouldn't let me in. Joined the back of the queue and tried again. Got laughed at. Sold my ticket to a tout for £3 I think. Mate got in. I was gutted. Suspect there'll be a few off here going. I picked up a resale ticket a few days ago primarily to see The Wedding Present, who I'm surprised to see on this bill. I find Hooky hit and miss due to the vocals. Just saw these stage times.

I went to that gig.Great scouse band called Top supporting them.Some cracking songs(she's got all the world,buzzing,man can't you see).We were having a bit crack on with the singer whilst watching the farm when altogether now came on, and for some reason loads of mags started singing Newcastle songs.So me and my mates decided to sing 'ole,ole,ole,ole,Marco,Marco'.Just so happened we were standing amongst loads of the mag hoolies(gremlins) ,who kicked the shit out of me and my 5 mates.All while the farm were singing 'all together now' whilst giving peace signs onstage!

Thanks for the stage times. Where did you see them? I'd have missed Tom Hingley as I thought doors opened at 4.30. Good to see the 'support' bands get 45/50 minutes.
I was at that Farm one. They had a very brief period in the sun. I saw them at Kubix a couple of years ago. I'd been watching someone else and wandered across to the other stage hoping to see them do Groovy Train. I stood for about three or four minutes while they were doing a song until I realised it was Groovy Train. They were awful.
We probably deserved it.Hate the footie crack at gigs, but we were young ,daft, 16 year olds..

Going to see The Prisoners at Camden Roundhouse in May, and Inspiral Carpets been announced as support. Should be a good night.

Theatre of Hate/Spear of Destiny were good back in the day. They should be worth getting there for.
The Farm are topper for two songs. Apart from that, a bit of standing about waiting for them two songs.

It's like being in the past trying to follow Shellac. Almost word of mouth. I'd have gone to Leeds too if I'd known. They were splendid at Boiler Shop a year or few ago.

JS Promotions posted the stage times on Facebook. I also thought doors were 4:30.
I'm expecting this will only be songs he sang with Inspiral Carpets? It's Inspiral Carpets former and best singer fronting an Inspiral Carpets tribute band so I'm hoping it'll be canny. His solo stuff didn't do much for me. The worst thing about the few tribute bands I've seen has been the singer so at least they've got that bit right.

Did they spend the rest of the time telling everyone that they were from Liverpool?
His solo stuff is terrible.Saw him at washington arts centre ,and it depressed the life out of me.His da had just died like(which he kept mentioning), so I don't think his head was in a good place.
