This following on from Terrovision on Friday night - they were briliant, no more words needed, just class (altho they didnt sing Tequilla?)

A somewhat alarming situation at The Last Dinner Party gig at Lincoln Engine Shed on Saturday.

Single male attendees (some not all?) were quizzed about the band to 'ensure' they were fans and were not attending for, let's say, 'other' reasons. Apparently some were also searched, for what I don't know.

The venue have confirmed that this took place. Seems the band didn't even play due to illness.

Read that earlier. Only heard of them for the first time because if this thread. Is there a history or an incident that’s lead to this, cos it appears from the small amount of information I’ve read so far that them & their fans just hate blokes :lol:

Mental that. The biggest weirdos at the Newcastle gig were lasses!! But each to their own etc 😂

No idea. Not entirely sure what single males were being searched for. Is being profiled a drug dealer too simplistic?

Imagine being someone who just genuinely likes going to see bands and is suspected of being a pervert/dealer.

Doesn’t sound like drugs to be honest. Just that blokes at a gig are predatory. Hope they don’t do this when I go to Wembley for Oasis next year :eek: :lol:

We saw them as support for Guns N Roses and I really enjoyed them. He had brilliant rapport with the crowd. He even caved to crowd pressure and begrudgingly sang "the Christmas song" even though it was June 😂
 
Busy week this week,the courettes tonight at the cluny, tom meighan tomorrow at riverside, the struts on Friday at NX, Ist Ist on Saturday at think tank and tom robinson on Sunday at fire station.

Tom has had to cancel both the Saturday and Sunday gigs. He's got an throat swelling. Tomorrow is still on but I'd rather he postponed if he's not 100%.

I was at the city hall last Monday taking the bairn along, as I posted further up this thread I was mildly apprehensive beforehand. The gig itself was spot on, no bother and the crowd in Newcastle was extremely diverse in age and probably contained more girls than boys, but not a raging feminist convention. Was an excellent gif for what’s it’s worth.

To me, this reads like the staff at the venue read the room entirely wrong - or the staff are wrong’ins.

Sounds like an absolute shit-show from the organisers, and frankly, the band too. Seemingly the supports played, but TLDP didn't (?!)

I got 'randomly' searched queuing to get into Newcastle. Didn't see it happen to anyone else in including lads I was with.

Must just look dodgy in black jeans and a lyle Scott jacket 😂
