How can you not love Maximo? Such a great live band. New album sounding canny, can't wait to give it a spin. 21 years since they last played @ Reds, at Northumbria Uni.

going with the teenage bairn tonight, was all for it when the tickets went on sale but now its here i'm not so sure. having seen some footage from their previous gigs i'm gonna be the wrong side of 40 & the wrong sex for the average audience member tonight. think i'll lurk near the bar at the back while the bairn gets stuck in down the front... :lol:

im not normally self conscious, but i think this could be a bit of an experience from my point of view. i've listened to a lot of the music so get that its heavily tilted to the female prospective, its just the cold reality of being amongst it all at the city hall that's got me on slight edge that will need a couple of pints to chill me out.

Agreed. Enjoyed it. Was surprised how broad the audience was, a lot more blokes and lot more age ranges… seems the hardcore fans all dress with the bands uniform & then there’s the rest…

Sure it’s been said before, their ‘sound’ is like they’ve rummaged through their parents vinyl collections and cherry picked so many influences from the last 50 years.
 
Anyone seen Rachael Lavelle before? Has supported Lankum and CMAT. Going to see her for first time in Newcastle in a few weeks.
