Yesterday's booking was total noddy. If he'd acknowledged the ref's whistle straightaway he might have got away with it, but no, he ignorantly runs right back to his position, turns round and tries to plead ignorance. For me it lessened the great work he'd put in.

That was the problem. Yesterday's ref was one of those 'look at me' arrogant pricks so if Flanagan had stopped for a second and told him how lovely his hair was he wouldn't have had a card.
I think he fact that he saw a spare ball and started doing keepy uppies during his warm up said it all.
