Thoughts

Pleased to see no Vince, and if that means Malan at 3 that’s ok

Stokes at 5 is pushing it. Bairstow needs to be higher

Overton did well in the ashes. Deserves a shot

Mark Wood. Oh Mark Wood. He’s from Durham and he’s quick. But he’s hardly fit and his record is average. I’m so far from convinced

Ali is a lucky boy
 

Don't have too much against Overton over Wood for this one.

Woods obviously a better bowler, but I'm not 100% where his pace is at, and he seems to me to be a bowler where he needs overs in his legs before becoming a constant threat (albeit I'm aware that where else do you get overs in your leg if not playing cricket)

That said, for me, pink ball, under lights on a damp pitch - Overton may well be more of a threat nipping it about (even outside of the night time hours it's gunna be ovetcast and nippy) than Wood bowling halfway down the pitch at 85MPH.

wood gets better when he isn't in the team his record is average but people want him in because he is quick which is nothing when you barely take wikets

not really sure wood is any better

how can they say we are a batter light ali 7 woakes 8 is quite strong

Wood is capable of unplayable bowling, not many are. How often he bowls well is underwhelming though. If he is in good form he has to play, otherwise probably not
 
Just noticed that the umpires are from Australia and New Zealand.

Have they done away with neutral umpires?
 
Worst score at 5 down since the 1800s.

Dunno whether to go to sleep or watch the lowest ever test score happen.
