Finish the job

The jobs pretty much finished for this season going off what Ghisolfi has said in interviews etc, the aim for this season has been achieved, unlikely they've set another aim by the end of this season for Regis.
Not the way I read it. Did he not say another 3 points, then another 3 points…….
That read to me that he wants us to win as many points as possible

I think our last away game of the season will be a battle for both clubs to qualify for Europe (us or Everton)

Having a bigger ground is a must. They would lose their tiny minds.
And the great thing about it is that they are severely restricted in expansion options and would likely have to move to a new stadium to increase capacity significantly.
It would cost a fortune, would likely be outside of the city and their beloved St James' park would be demolished!

Adding a few thousand seats to the SoL would be a relatively cheap way to put the Mags in a situation where they would have to spend an absolute fortune to have a bigger ground. I love the idea.

Imagine the amount of money the mags would have to spend to just to find a new location, let alone getting planning permission and actually designing and building the stadium!
I'm not sure their owners would be up for it, tbh. Of course, they are wealthy enough to grease a few palms on the council...

I don't look at them. Let's try to qualify for Europe if we miss the starts we may hit the moon of top half, that'll likely be above them anyway.
I do!
Just imagine if we've broken them and they don't get another point!

Exodus in the summer for them, either way. Crap attitude in their squad almost to a man.
They're clearly unhappy there, and they're not performing as a result.

It's a joy to behold. Thank fck we don't have their scouting network.

Not sure what people are finding so difficult to understand.

The goal in football is to obviously try and win every game.

He’s said multiple times in recent interviews that the aim was 40 points. What I’m saying is I doubt they’ve then set Regis another target to achieve in just a couple of months before the season is out e.g. we now want you to get 50 points or secure a spot in Europe.

Now that the double’s done and we’re almost certainly safe, the re-focussed goal now has to be to finish above them. While it’s not necessary for us to do so in order to have had a brilliant season, it would be the absolute icing on the cake and would extinguish the last breaths of delusion left in our neighbours.

Also, if we finish above them there’s a good chance we’ll be knocking on the door of Europe, and by extension a good chance they won’t be.
As Dawn Thewlis so neutrally put it “we really need the international break”.

With a fully fit defence we can win every match 1-0.

Who would you have get the goal that gifts us that milestone?

Mr Sunderland gets my vote
Return of the king. A last minute throw of the dice with us needing a goal to clinch European footy, on comes Abdoullah Ba and he scores the winner versus Chelsea.

This season was only ever going to be judged on survival. Stay up = success. Relegation = failure.

Literally anything else would be a bonus.

Were out of the cups. We look to be safe. Fuck the mags, fuck Europe, win as many games as we can, and what will be will be.

They might finish above us. They might claim to be top dogs, but theyll know deep down we did them home and away and were a lot closer to them than theyre comfortable with.
