Haha I love how broken we all are as Sunderland fans to always expect the worst that it still has to be said “almost certainly safe” 😂

There is absolutely not a chance we go down with 43 points on the board and 7 games to play even for the most pessimistic of us
 
Peter Reid’s’ team got 58 and 57 points in the seasons they finished 7th, I think the next highest PL points total we have had was 47 and 45 points next Steve Bruce.

So next target has to be to better the Steve Bruce seasons ns, then push on to rqusl Peter Teids total.

I’m willing to bet inside the camp they’re planning for a massive push to finish as high as possible, hopefully going in with an attitude that they want to win all the remaining games. And with our best players coming back why shouldn’t they? It’s why RLB didn’t take stupid risks with the derby lineup.

Regis will likely manage expectations lower in press conferences but the club will realize the value of a strong seasons end for prize money and summer recruitment.

Hope so, could be a great end to an incredible season.
 
I’m torn on Europe tbh. On the one hand it would be amazing. On the other you see what effect it has on the likes of Forest and Palace who have struggled this season. Will we have a squad capable of playing 2 games a week at this level next season? I’m not so sure.

This time last year we didn't have the squad capable of playing in the Premier League, just have to trust that they'd be able build strength in depth over the summer.

Also, if we finish above them there’s a good chance we’ll be knocking on the door of Europe, and by extension a good chance they won’t be.
