FB Argument of the Day: Savaloys

Forgive me, but are these like sausages you get in the chippy or are they a special kind which apparently needs to be dissected by wrong'uns like @Bollotti ?

Black pudding - if steamed - isn't as pleasant (for me) than it is fried. I once got one from Bury Market and struggled to eat the thing
Some black pudding is in plastic

They are boiled, so the skin isn’t crispy. If you don’t take off the skin, it would be like what I imagine, biting into a knob end
The ones in London chippies are fried in batter with skins on

I peel the skin off.

Haven't had a savaloy dip for ages. I want one now

The skin goes like rubber when they’ve been cooked. Of course you peel them.

My rule of thumb is whatever Dickson’s do to a savaloy; that’s the right way.

Anyone who chooses one over a battered sausage deserves a beating anyway. Peel them, don’t peel them, they’d all end up in the bin in my house.

Go in to Dickson's (the undisputed king of a saveloy dip) and ask them NOT to peel your saveloy and they'll laugh in your face....
If this is true then its a gamechanger. I've never peeled a saveloy but perhaps I've been eating them peeled all along.
