F1 2022

That was ok as a race but overall still extremely underwhelmed by the "Ground Effect" era. Red Bull dominance is hardly better for the sport then Mercedes dominance was. I do not think this lack of competitiveness was what the FIA had in mind.
Not really sure what they expected when the only person who was around the last time we had ground effect and who literally wrote a thesis on ground effect works for Red Bull like

The ground effect reg changes have nothing to do with the dominance though. In motorsport there’ll usually be one dominant team over a season. This season it’s doubled down on by the fact RB won’t let the drivers race like Rosberg and Lewis did, for instance, so there won’t be a title battle at all. But sadly it’s just part of motorsport.

Still don’t think the title race is over mind, Merc charging forward and Ferrari aren’t out of it yet, but both teams need each other to do well to take points off Max too

Mercedes learned from that - they won't even let 3 v 4 race now. None of the top teams will risk collisions. You'll only get that with the smaller teams where it produces some air time for the sponsors. Shame but it's how it is.

Merc today told Hamilton 'Russell won' t make the pass difficult for you' which is right as well as Hamilton had the pace.

It could be the last race of the season with Max 150 points in the lead and you would still think Merc could pull off a come from behind win.

The only chance for a title win for anyone not named Max Verstappen is Ferrari sorting out their reliability issues and Leclerc driving like an absolute animal for the rest of the season.

Time will tell. No need for negativity when we’re only a third of the way through the season. Plenty of time for things to change, and we’ve seen bigger swings in form historically than this

Mercedes would have let them race. They were on different strategies at the point you referenced though, racing different cars, Lewis was both faster and had fresher tyres, so why lose time at that point of the race? Only time they were near each other, Lewis left George behind.

Exactly as it was when you criticised Red Bull - the trouble is on these simulation and scenario informed times it will be rare that team mates are in an identical situation in the teams eyes and the moment they are the team split strategies most often.
