The stewards give the penalty and that’s the end of it, even if you don’t agree with what was given out after a crash it’s always just been accepted.

Red bull need to move on, how many times has max been involved in crashes and we’re any of the penalties appealed

Just been reading that honda produced the fastest ever formula one car, missed this 15 years ago... turns out the driver is still on the current f1 grid too...

Just a thought but Toto and Lewis have been vocal praising Vallteri for his excellent team contribution. The second seat at Mercedes is felt by many to be Georges come the end of Vallteris contract but it may be that Mercedes are looking at the bigger picture.

Don’t rule out the same driver line up in the silver arrows next season and quite possibly beyond.

George may have to wait longer than he would like.

I've noticed that too, and the fact that Bottas has been far more willing to play the team game recently (Spain being the obvious exception)

It might be a message to George of what will be expected of him, or a message to Valterri of how he can stay in the team.

Him and Lewis get on. They are winning. Big changes coming to tech regs - why destabilise a winning team?

It's a gamble to change it, it's probably fair to say that if George had been in the team this year, Mercedes would have more points, because Bottas's bad races have been very costly, particularly as he doesn't seem to have the ability to pull every last millisecond out of the car like Lewis and George do.

If Mercedes find themselves back at the front, those poor races from Bottas won't matter, equally, it would allow a great opportunity for George to set down a marker for what he can achieve. The flip side being we could have another Rosberg situation.

If the decision hasn't been made yet and bottas can keep getting some decent results then I can see him staying.

A 1-2 for mercs in Hungary and they take control of both championships (Providing hamilton is 1st).

Fascinating reading how difficult it was to get the power down… at least driving the medical car is easier for him now!

If you standstill you’re going backwards is also a thought…

strong rumour he’s off to Alfa to replace a retiring Kimi… a fin for a fin.

Seen that might, Merc might not have the chance to sign him up

If they keep with what they have now though, it sets them on the path of having to try and tempt Verstappen or Leclerc assuming Hamilton's next contract is his last. That could be difficult and very expensive.

Russell will need a couple of seasons alongside an experienced team-mate first. It would be a lot to expect him to be a number one driver in his first or second season. Leclerc and Verstappen were both given time and breathing room in their first couple of seasons, and it worked.
