ThisEh? Youve literally picked one page where there are maybe 3 negative comments on him. The other 15 pages or so are decent to 'we#d have him back if the price was right/'
Very odd thing to post.!

We are always unobjectionable, it's your lot that are objectionable. Objectively speaking. Is this the same stance where you accused Villa fans of being bitter when you appointed O'Neill when they warned you of his flaws and when you accused Swindon fans of being bitter when they warned you of Di Canio's flaws?
Rodwell is a good player when fit, of that there is no doubt but don't to be so unobjectionable. Especially when it is people that have viewed him a lot that are reviewing his ability. That mistake was made with O'Neill and Di Canio in the past.
So you're getting ready for work (so you say) and one of the first things that springs to mind is to go on the SMB!This is literally your only riposte. About to get ready for work (well, being a NUFC fan, community service as we don't have jobs)
More like Wickham.Nah, Gardner couldn't pass water. Sounds more like Colback, a 'safe' player that perhaps plays a little too safe

Kinda emphasising the point with Gus and his staff - maybe, just maybe...they know how to keep players fit - a shocking concept to consider, I know. It is possible however.
I reckon you should stay awake thinking about it.

The lad's an arsehole mate, a sad knacker who some on here think is canny for a mag. They're all the same, sly as fuck and obsessed.but to go on your rivals forum at this time of the morning seems quite bizarre. Have you posted on any of your forums yet?
My brother in law (Everton season ticket holder) doesn't rate him. Never heard him say that when rodwell was actually playing for them though. Plus, I know more about football than him, so fuck him. Rodwell's class.
No links to what was said when they sold him to Man City? Bet it was slightly different then.
Spot on. He is a quality player. If he plays more than 20 games a season he will raise the bar for the team. It's a gamble but we're not going to attract players of this quality at the moment unless there is something that puts off the bigger clubs from signing him. When Rodwell came through the ranks he was a ball playing CB, Moyes however didn't really trust playing a youngster at the back (polar opposite of Martinez with Stones) and Rodwell lacked a bit of awareness so he put him in midfield. Looked good but as a DM the lack of awareness meant he let people run off him which ended up being costly, so Moyes moved him to the number 10 position, he scroed one good goal against Man U and lived off that for ages without producing anything like it again. At one point Moyes put Rodwell right wing which was ridiculous and he played appealingly badly. I'm sure Moyes even played him RB once or twice.
The point of the above is the lad never got a proper run in any position and was played in many that were totally wrong for him... it really stunted his development. I remember at the start of one season the rest of the team looking totally unprepared and unfit, Rodwell was running around (playing DM) and demanding the ball, taking a touch and looking for a pass, no one showed time and time again... at that point I remember thinking the lad looked our best player by a mile. Sadly his form nosedived and never recovered.
Then the injuries set in, and from what I've read he even went to Germany and had the controversial PRP blood spinning treatment to cure is hamstrings. 2 seasons of injuries and warming the bench at City would suggest this didn't work.
When Rodwell left we were all laughing that we'd mugged £11m from City (I'm an Everton supporter), because it was just a stupidly inflated fee. I personally am a little taken aback you are paying almost the same despite his lack of game time and constant injuries at City.
All that being said I genuinely believe if Rodwell was breaking through now we'd see a different player as Moyes pretty much ruined him, whereas Martinez would have nurtured him. The problem is no-one knows what he can actually do, he seems when fit and on form someone who will do the simple things, he doesn't make many tackles, doesn't really burst forward, just gets it and lays it off simple. He's athletic but doesn't have any real bite or aggression. He won't score many as he's not really the driving forward type, and he won't break up play a great deal. Add to that he's made of glass and it's a bit of an odd signing IMO.
I think we'd have had him back for about £5m just because he's a blue and the 'well you never know under Martinez...' hope, but for a team that really needs someone to step in and make a difference and at £10m? Pretty huge gamble that I find it hard to see working. Won't bring enough to the team, maybe in time, if he can stay fit, and if he reaches his potential... all big maybes that at this point in time doesn't seem like the right signing at the right fee for you lot.
I like the lad though so I hope I'm wrong and at least he'll get regular game time to develop and find his feet if he can stay fit
Good post. Good insight to his style of play etc. According to some on here you'd think we were getting a cross between beckenbauer and yaya toure! When Rodwell came through the ranks he was a ball playing CB, Moyes however didn't really trust playing a youngster at the back (polar opposite of Martinez with Stones) and Rodwell lacked a bit of awareness so he put him in midfield. The Everton fans I've heard from all wish the lad well.
