I can't believe how many people are asking for an early decleration, this is Test cricket not the CC.

Bat on to about half past, lead of about 350 with 55 overs to bowl tonight.
 
I'm surprised that so many are calling for the declaration, even though we are already 1-0 up a test series. It could make for a more entertaining finish if Strauss had declared between 270-300 ahead, but at test level you should never give your opponents a sniff. I agree with getting up to 350 and making sure we can't lose. Negative perhaps, but this is test cricket and if you are up in a series you see it through, not put on a show.
 
as ive said, bat an hour after lunch and give yaself around 55 to knock them over.

might actually be better to have them knowing they are out the game and leave them trying to defend. get a couple of quick uns and they will feel the pressure. once 5 wickets go they are there for the taking.

Yes, tire them out, take a bit more spirit out of them, leave them with no sniff and their minds may not be as tuned on as if they had something to play for.

Mr Pie statistically how may times has a team scored more than 250 runs in the last two sessions of a match to win the match?

I bet you a can of fosters its ZERO.

How many times man? There are 106 overs to be bowled today, effectively three and a half sessions. Jesus wept.

So how many have chased 250 in 76 overs? f***ing loads.
