correct, which i was saying right from the off.

thought this england set up had a bit of a ruthless streak but instead they took the easy option and picked finn, and it proved costly as the attack was too one dimensional.

we also batted for around 50 runs too many imo.

we played some decent cricket but the decision making was poor for this test.

South Africans are always conservative by nature

Strauss is more defensive than an Italian football team who is 1-0 up with 10 mins to play. No way the Lankans were ever going to try and chase down 280+ in two sessions a batsman short. 1-1 Series away draw is a major plus for them.

Didn't Finn get the most wickets of all the English bowlers in this game? The lad goes for runs but has a knack of picking up wickets. Still shouldn't have been picked in the first place though.

like he was in Australia which was nothing short of a disgrace

That was a risk that could have back fired, but when Bresnan came into the side he was better than Finn.

Like who mate? Not many authentic swing bowlers about. Mark Eahlam?

Finn had done the hard work, Bresnan cleaned up in the last two tests

We won one, lost one and drew one of the tests Finn played. It's not like the series was won before Bresnan came into the team. We then won the two without Finn by an innings.
