they should have been swinging the arms whoevers in. this is why i prefer county to internationa, far too happy to trundle along to draws and pad their stats rathr than play for teh win

id go ten overs tops, looking to score 4-5 per over, gaining a lead of 300ish and then get them in. that should leave us with 50 odd overs to knock them over.....

havent seen the wicket, but it suggests the pitch is offering something for the spinners, so swann could very much be in business.

eh?

cant really fault the approach thus far, game is being set up canny imo.

Why not promote Morgan above Bell? :-?

this

He's started at a decent rate (typically), but from what I've seen of him in limited overs cricket he's still very one-dimensional.

He has everyshot inthe book. improvised brilliantly in Cardiff. He looks supremely confident and free from pressure

He does, if you are looking for a classical test match batsman. If you are looking for quick runs, improvisation, picking gaps and good running between the wickets, then you are better off promoting Morgan or Prior.

Cook batting far too selfishly. Once we established an 180-200 run lead he should have opened his arms. This game looks destined to end as a draw unless we get another miracle.

Have we not bloody declared yet?

FFS, how can any team chase 250+ in the last two sessions of a test.

I wouldve thought that leaving them with a about 250-300 wouldve had the srilankans playing some shots.

Ridiculous decision not to declare. I don't care how close Cook is to a century the team's needs come first.

Sometimes we just aren't ruthless enough.

Can someone please post the score? My work internet keeps crashing on bbc and skysports
