What a daft post. When I made that comment a few years back he wasn't. He has significantly improved his game and found an extra 15mph of pace.

IIRC I also said he needs to be working with Anderson to learn his trade secrets and this seems to have happened.

Always have done. The difference in conditions between India and England is immense

The point being Pakistan performed a lot better than India and the difference in conditions in England and Pakistan / UAE are also immense.

Re Woakes - you weren't right at the time. You said your comments a week before he took all 10 wickets against Durham with what Colly described as 90mph leg breaks. Woakes is no quicker now than he was then but he is clearly a better bowler, that's what experience of test match cricket does for you.

To be fair, you said Buttler would make a fool of me in this test

Because they’re f***ing massively overrated. Alright beating teams in India, but when they’re out of their comfort zone they’re dog shit.

Mind, it says a lot about Test teams in general at present, seems a long while since any team were able to consistently win away.

True, they did okay in South Africa though. Look so poor in this game.....

Flat batted slogs with his eyes shut. Ok
He was playing the situation - quick runs needed, have a dip at everything.

Don't see anything wrong with that, and definitely don't see it as making modern cricket 'lamentable'.

Don't forget they also play a lot of away test matches in very 'Indian-like' conditions - Pakistan/UAE, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

That’s what I was getting at too, I’d even consider SA as being friendly to the sub-continental sides.

If they can beat us or Australia away, fair enough, talk about them being a great side. Looking forward to seeing how they do next time in Oz.

So f***ing easy :lol::lol::lol:

The stat from yesterday was that they are the only team in the world who have won more away than lost since 2015

Til today anyway

Against shit sides mind

See my previous post about where they've played a lot of those away games - 2015 Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, 2016 West Indies, 2017 - Sri Lanka, 2018 - South Africa. A lot of games in very 'Indian-like' conditions.

f***ing hell, went out for a couple of hours on my bike and it's nearly all over
