Need the tail to get another 70 or so here mind, fancy India if it's anything under 330 to chase.

No matter who you support you can surely agree that this has been a fantastic days Test Cricket! Plenty more to come too, still 16 overs left and lots to play for!

Wobbling here a little

Trott looks like he won't last 5 mins

Tufnell said he looked fucked in the nets this morning. I thought they'd stick him in at the end of the tail and hope we'd have declared before that. Maybe they should have.

I would only feel marginally safe if we get to 350 tbh. Two days left, against a very strong front line of batsmen who have proven themselves technically sound when it comes to playing swing.

Know its Trent Bridge and all that but 350 in two days is doable if the attack isn't firing, and Swann and Trott are out of sorts so it will be a lot of pressure on Broad, Anderson and Bresnan.

I would back England at a 350 lead but it will be close still I think.

To be fair I think a team batting 4th in a Test Match no matter where in the world and no matter who against fully deserves to win if they can chase down 350! I suppose we had better wait and see just how many they do have to chase but 350 will take atleast 100 overs too and I'd think there'll be enough in it for the bowlers to have their chance at 10 wickets.

Trott went in to try and see off the new ball a bit, with defensive shots, which was a good choice, but it backfired. He's fucked not going to do much at the tail end either.

Bresnan has a few First Class 100's to his name too. Boyc's raised the point on TMS on Friday and the general feeling was he's the better batsman overall.

Had it not been a newish ball, he might have, I'd think. For now, Bresnan at 8 seems sensible. The strength of England's tail now is excellent. It used to be that someone with Anderson's ability would have been batting at 9.

;-)

You said definitely, I said probably, to be fair...

Aye, 300 lead up. Broad and Swann to come in and throw the bat with Prior, whatever we get should come quickly and be entertaining.
