England v India - 2nd Test, Trent Bridge

further nail in the coffin for test cricket as Harby is ruled out anarl.

I would be asking for my money back if I had forked out £70 for a test match ticket this summer

Zaheer Khan
Harby Singh
Virender Sehwag
Gautem Ghambir

There are so few world class test players in the game at the minute, its a travesty that another series has been sold out to the rigours of the IPL

Khan - injured in match.
Singh - not as good as he used to be, and hasn't looked threatening at all, and injured while here.
Sehwag - IPL
Ghambir - injured in match.

So, 3 out of the 4 travelled. 2 picked up injures while playing.

Not a good enough arguement. India should have better back-up players.

Indeed, you would think a tough guy like Harby could tough out a stomach ache like. England will rightly take their place as the best team in the world in the finest game in the world next week. It seems India's ageing stars are lacking the courage for a fight, and they have little strength in depth beyond this. Exposed and obliterated by Englands finest team for a generation.....long live Test cricket.

When you pivot and give it a rip, a stomach muscle will be very painful. Similar to Broad trying to nurse a side strain in Aus before eventually going home.

Just a shame Indias two best bowlers have been injured, and two of their three best batsman also injured. As Aleem rightly said, you can only beat whats put infront of you but I would rather beat them with a full strength side not half a side missing

Aleem has a highly respected poster on here, your post is at best naive. Sportsman will always try and play big games when not fully fit with an injection here and there but the injury gets worse as has been seen. Ghambir was injured in the match but the two bowlers have never looked fit and to suggest otherwise one can only chuckle

Building a great side is about having more than just 11 players, the great Australian side of the 90's and 00's....and I use the word 'great' had a superb talent pool, players that stepped in and were world class. Bevan, Lehman, McGill, Law....the list is endless. India are not a great side, they are good side that's frailties have been easily exposed by a side on an upward curve in England, and to be fair the Indians have just not been beaten, they have been blown away in a quite stunning fashion.

I have never said India were great, to be considered great you need to regularly beat sides in their own backyard.

I wouldnt say they have been exposed they have been stupid with their scheduling and have come over half cooked and half fit and its shown.

The have just played a test series in the Windies  Poor fitness is endemic in Indian cricket, always has been. Rack up as many excuses for them as you like, the burden of expectation has weighed heavily, and physically and mentally they are not tough enough to cope with the strongest side in world cricket on their home turf.

exactly. Three test series then straight into another series in completely different conditions.

Test cricket is a long game which takes it out of you mentally and physically and India would have been better served having a break then coming over here and having two proper 4 day warm up games

they looked jaded and uninterested tbh

That stems from the captain, I'm sure the billions back in Asia are over the moon about that.

saving himself for his pay days in the IPL, cant really blame him tbh

Nope he is just a souless cricketer now, it's written all over face. Bared out by the PR stunt at tea on Sunday, a clear attempt to re-assert his fading reputation, nothing more.

' I dont want to be here' is all I can see written accross his face

Great example to be setting to all the young Asians in Britain. While he lives in his little dressing room Bollywood bubble, Matt Prior gives coaching lessons to the kids....different gravy as they say.

aye.

Taken India to number one in the world, won the world cup, 20/20, numerous IPL titles all while having the hopes of 1 billion people on his shoulders

embarassing post from you tbh

The billions will only be concerned about what's going on now, and the only thing embarrassing has been his lack of stomach for a fight when it really matters.

If greatness in the sport is judged by toy town cricket, them yes he is a great of the game indeed.
