Aye. I seem to remember John MacPhail hitting the bar and scoring from the rebound, only for it to be disallowed. You can't double touch it anyways mate. Never could. Always been stopped when it comes back off the bar and back to the taker. Normally they get out the way though.
That only got stopped as the lad touch a touch. Just the same as if you slip and double touch it in.
In all my life I must never have seen that before. Well I’ll be fucked.Never has. It has to touch another player. I remember John McPhail doing it and it being ruled out.

no. There's no rebounds now for anyone from either team.
Five major changes to the rules of football
1. There will be no rebounds from penalties
Play will stop for a restart if a penalty is saved or hits the post, meaning there will be no chance to follow up and score from rebounds, meaning players will no longer need to line up on the edge of the area.
It's ridiculousAye I have no idea whats going on most the time

Thank you....I thought football had totally lost it’s collective mind there! That's an old article - that proposal was dropped.
I’ve watched hundreds of Sunderland games and never seen it. Thousands on tv and never seen it until tonight. Learn something new everyday. Obviously a very rare occurrence.I've only seen it once and that was the John McPhail one. May have been away to York.
