England Players County Form

Sibley hit his fifth half century in six innings. Very impressive. BBC report got it spot on "sedate but rock solid" which ios why he probably won't get picked for England.

Burns played a much more aggressive and exciting innings but rode his luck a bit I thought. Smith played a good innings.
Ahmed with figures of 73-5 across two innings for Notts.

His brother didnt bowl again for Leicestershire and scored poorly with the bat.
Smith gave his wicket away with a fuckkng ridiculous shot mind. Never used to happen, but happening worryingly frequently now after the Bazball brains trust have fucked about with him :(

He a freakish talent, and I'm genuinely worried that the circus masquerading as the England cricket team are going to ruin it.

Smith is class but a worrying lack of application. The England setup are definitely selling some of these short with the hit and giggle stuff. I see Pope failed again too. Far too lose at 3 for me. He bats 6 as a WK/batsman or not at all.

On another note - good chance Farhan plays for England this summer. Genuinely looks one of the best spinners in the country at 17. Accurate, wicket-taking threat and can bat.

Pope averages north of 40 at 3 mind

That’ll happen with Public school boys like.

Obviously the surrey tax gets him in the England team though

Sorry like just not true

Look at the averages of our batters and team pre and post stokes, it’s night and day

Honestly think people have amnesia

Btw bairstow averaged 40 in the ashes yet smith, who I would still pick by the way, is labeled the 2nd coming of Christ for average 40 plus against West Indies and Sri Lanka

That’s what playing for surrey and in London gets you on cricket. Hype.
Pope averages north of 40 at 3 mind

100%

Gets in my team like. Scores 100s. Keep him

I'd rather have someone slow, steady and consistent like Sibley scoring five half centuries in seven innings than someone hitting a few low scores and then 150 in as many balls which is what we seem to prefer.

Sibley is not a test cricketer like sorry. And I like him. He just isn’t suited to facing quick bowling and big spin

Important to remember this. We were dire before Stokes. Just wish we played the conditions and score with a bit more nouse at times.

However, its also worth comparing Stokes with the white ball team atm. The red ball team are also doing a much better job under his leadership

We aren’t perfect like, but we had literally nobody averaging anything bar root and stokes then

All our batters after average decent amounts

Like it’s just utter shite some of the criticism

Sports fans like to moan

Can we better? Absolutely, But the way we have played has helped every single batter we have picked.

Sibley is the batsman to pick when you thinking is safety first and not to lose the game rather than thinking of winning it.

He was found out at international level he scored both slow and had poor average and that’s without playing a single match against Australia if he had imo his average would be even worse

Course we have some of the negativity on here towards the England team is confusing very confusing.

We just won our last away test series but all you hear is negativity.

Stokes and McCullum been great for English cricket

It's what the uneducated seem to prefer. Pick off form, not vibes. Sibley, in any sane, sensible world, would start v Zim.

Sibley has developed a far greater range of strokes, reads the game and plays as the situation demands. Can't have Neanderthals like that playing for the enlightened England.

His performances in the Blast last year proved that, too. But because he wasn't in great nick before he got dropped by England, the thickos want Crawley because he'll play a nice drive before nicking off and leaving us in the shit

Sibley is a vastly improved player now than when he last played for England.
Criticism does not necessarily equate to negativity and it's perfectly fair comment that the current England team have illustrated a weakness to adapt to differing situations. The "one size fits all" approach can be justifiably criticised.

Not "thickos" please. They simply have a 1 dimensional view of how the game should be played, just as the present England team have.
