What's Bairstow's like?Arguably the 3 players most under pressure after poor winters have all begun the season poor.
Crawley 3 failures
Pope couple failures
Bashir going at 4 an over with not many wickets
PopesqueWhat's Bairstow's like?
This. I fully expect to see Crawley, Pope and Bashir against Zimbabwe.I honestly don't think it will make a jot of difference to their places, not that I agree that it shouldn't.

Although Crawley’s place is becoming more and more untenable. Plenty of openers going well right now - McKinney, Yates, Haines, Walter… not that they look at the CC.

Bashir’s first class average now above 50. Imagine him in Australia man.
There’s no way Yates and Walter are international cricketers like
And it’s too soon for McKinney
Awful dismissal but played excellently yesterday.Pope strangled down the leg side for 65.
Rehan is more likely to replace Crawley than Bashir going on his showings this year so far.
His bowling has never really impressed me that much, it’s way too flat and without guile. But they’ve always said he can really bat so you’d hope he’s an option at 6 at some pointAppears to be doing more batting than bowling doesn't he, think he only got 8 overs as Derbyshire racked up nigh on 400.

Plenty of young spinners that became top class batsmen. Smith and Pietersen spring to mindHe was selected very young and still is, but I know what you are saying. Longer term I don't think he'll play as a frontline spinner.
