England in NZ

England close todays play at 55/3.

15 minutes left of play and Rory Burns goes for a mad sweep shot. Dreadful stuff.

You know full well what my point is you condescending arse. We lost 4 wickets for 18 runs against the second new ball. Bringing in Leach ahead of Curran to see off the shine could have allowed Curran and Archer more opportunity to hit out against a worn ball and given somebody for Buttler to build an innings with.

Aside from that, I wouldn't class Pope's 29 as 'runs' on a batting friendly wicket, considering he's a specialist batsman.

I like Sam, but he isn't a second or third seamer

It's not a fast scoring pitch. They are playing to the conditions, like we did on day one.

It’s not condescending in the slightest just a diffrent point of view.

If Moeen had produced Leach's figures, he would be getting hammered.

Yep started a thread after the Ashes, that Leach looks a throughly decent bloke, and is a handy 10/11 with the bat.

But imo, is not a top quality international spinner, his record is massively influenced by the wicket at Taunton.

Would be interesting to see his first class record away from there.

What a load of shit. Set to lose another match after being in a winning position on days 1-3.

Try disagreeing without belittling the other poster for once

In my first reply to you on this thread, I said I think cricket is more than just defend and they needs to be a balance between attack and defence, you replied saying I was condescending and a arse.

I then said it’s wasn’t concesending it was just a diffrent point of view, so you now reply saying I am belittling in the response.

I am just having a diffrent view and disagreeing which is just healthy debate, it’s not condescending or belittling in the slightest just difffrent!

I don’t agree with your view that it’s always about patience in test cricket, and that you need to have attacking players and think Baylis was a very good coach for England, which is just simply my opinion.

That balance between defence and attack is clearly the key to cricket - and we've got it wrong, again. Our first innings total was obviously well short and we look set to lose, by a street.

Garbage. Two of them three wickets were an absolute joke. How professional international opening cricketers could be dismissed as easy is a disgrace.
Be over early afternoon session.
