What is it they say about hindsight?

From the looks of it another right-arm seamer wouldn't have made a ha'porth of difference on this pitch.

Hopefully our batsmen bat properly in the second innings and show this pitch for what it is.

I agree - i'm not critical of his selection and would have picked him myself but wasnt expecting it to be as falt as it has been. Its a flat pitch - Curran has done OK on a flat pitch taking 2 wickets at 40 a piece at 3.2 an over getting a top player out. At OT is was a flat pitch and Overton did OK on a flat pitch taking 2 wickets at 40 a piece at 3 an over getting a top player out. It was more the absolute outrage at the 'obvious erro'r at not playing Curran at OT on a flat pitch that was a load of shite. He's a good horses for course cricketer and a great selection when its swinging and seaming.

Just goes to show you can't judge a pitch and a match situation until both sides have batted on it, many thought 350 was a very competitive score and England were in pole position to possibly win this in 3-4 days, now its clear they're at least 100-150 short.

Cricket is more than defend and defend and you need a balance between attack and defence, nothing wrong at all with stroke players in the middle to lower order in fact not sure what your point is as Stokes, Pope and Buttler scored runs.

You know full well what my point is you condescending arse. We lost 4 wickets for 18 runs against the second new ball. Bringing in Leach ahead of Curran to see off the shine could have allowed Curran and Archer more opportunity to hit out against a worn ball and given somebody for Buttler to build an innings with.

Aside from that, I wouldn't class Pope's 29 as 'runs' on a batting friendly wicket, considering he's a specialist batsman.
God this is depressing

Curran is absolutely farting it down

I like Sam, but he isn't a second or third seamer
They've seen our recent collapses. Bat the day out at 2.65 and bowl us out for 65 tomorrow.

It's not a fast scoring pitch. They are playing to the conditions, like we did on day one.
