That wasn't intentional, she had simply ended the email with "Louise" and her surname just wasn't in the content I copied and pasted.

Most people know who she is and she's been mentioned plenty of times on here before, so it's not a confidentiality issue.
I'm assuming it's Louise Wanless. Just don't understand why Steve says we can't say her surname.

Action and reaction, that's all it is if the club had run it self better and the owner had admit his mistakes in 2014 that maybe we would be in a better place now
We'd almost certainly have been relegated in 2015 - although we'd be on our way towards sorting things now you'd hope.

One advantage we might see going through the mill now is that if we can find one young player who makes a breakthrough impact (for arguments sake, Maja) we'd be able to generate a one off fee far in excess of what we would have got two years ago. Just need to get one or two right over the next three years to have a significant impact.

I'll believe it when I see it. We're yet to see any real positive action and are currently embroiled in yet another relegation battle.

I agree with all that however like I said had the owner done what we are doing now in the premership then, as in have someone like Bain running the show someone who clearly knows what it takes to run a club, then Maybe with a little practical thinking and getting the things that we both agree on scouting and youth product put into place then maybe we would still be in the premership now

What this mail demonstrates is that the club really needs to improve the openness and frequency of communication. There's an understandable amount of cynicism within the fanbase but the Bain interview and this mail are pretty logical, open and honest and represent a step in the right direction. More communication - and more openness - will help to shut down the more tinfoil end of the speculation scale. That in itself will be worthwhile. It might even start to bring the club and fans back towards each other. Baby steps, though.

It is, I don't agree with it, but I appreciate the effort put into the response even though I was expecting nothing, or a dismissive response in one paragraph. Basically, after the Forest Game I had wrote angry (but civil) email to the club directory about the situation at SAFC
Go on then. You've shown us hers now show us yours

Indeed but it's them who have to do most of the walking.

It's within the realms of possibility - but highly unlikely imo. The £30m shortfall kept us afloat. Remove it and it's virtually certain we'd have still fell. Also with each successful great escape the pressure to 'kick on' still went up. The fanbase would have struggled to accept such a radical new direction (spending on youth and prospects rather than on players to help us in the moment) and on and on we go. What's important from now is for the club to be honest and share as much info as they can on the direction we're chooosing to take.

In as much as they need to make the first move, yeah definitely. Eventually, though, sections of the fanbase are gonna have to start using their heads a bit more. Either that or just walk away.

So if we didn't have a Pickford to sell, we'd be in administration now?

Most of us on here can understand the situation we're in and can see the course of action being taken to try to correct matters. However, it still begs the question,as you say,why it has taken so long and us to get into such a disastrous state before the penny dropped. Short made mistakes early on and just kept on making them......that's the beef!

Is it a coincidence that the penny dropped when Bain arrived?

Maybe.....I don't know whether he was brought in to identify and solve or just to implement what Short had already concluded. My point is that the club didn't seem to spot the disaster looming even though the writing had been on the wall for some considerable time. Many on here had seen it....even from our non-informed positions.

Not sure we can claim that as the majority opinion of this board was that Short should have spent more not less.

Fair amount of sound bites and token phrases in the email but it would be no different at any other club. I would love Short and / or Bain to sit me down and explain how the plans they have will help to get us out of the financial mess we are in as I just cannot see it happening
Are you a financial guru who could help guide them?

 There are many on here who have been expressing serious concern about the way the club was being run,not just the level of spending or what it was being spent on.

My point has always been the mismanagement of it all and it now seems the club agrees with me, you realise of course just how irresponsible it's all been when we can see the likes of alonso for example brought in on loan and then the club not going on to sign him when it was clear he improved the team

"achieve football and financial stability"

To be fair he's stabilised the Football side....

We're consistently absolutely Fookin shoite......
