It's within the realms of possibility - but highly unlikely imo. The £30m shortfall kept us afloat. Remove it and it's virtually certain we'd have still fell. Also with each successful great escape the pressure to 'kick on' still went up. The fanbase would have struggled to accept such a radical new direction (spending on youth and prospects rather than on players to help us in the moment) and on and on we go. What's important from now is for the club to be honest and share as much info as they can on the direction we're chooosing to take.
In as much as they need to make the first move, yeah definitely. Eventually, though, sections of the fanbase are gonna have to start using their heads a bit more. Either that or just walk away.
