This bloke has ruined everything. Our longest run in the top flight in my life time and this complete fool has fucked up so bad that this season could potentially bring back the "worst team in history" title.

Remember the stick Bob Murray used to get? The bloke wasn't perfect by any means, but he was red n white and he knew his football. Short is clueless and has totally stripped our assets on the field while focusing solely on the clubs image. The fans couldn't give a fuck about the clubs image ffs.

Don't blame anyone else, it's Shorts fault we are in this mess.
I think the penny is starting to drop.

According to the following our net spend over the last 4 years totals £26 million.

Or £3 million less than Robin Van Persie.

2013-14

Net spend £4.3 million

2012-13

Net spend £20.5 million

2011-12

Net spend £1.7 million

2010-11

Net income £12 million

Just goes to show that if you are red and white and know your football then that is no guarantee of a successful team on the pitch.

I dread to think what Short will do after another 7 games and the same players are coasting. Another manager sacked? He's already said that staying in the premiership is a necessity and "Unfortunately sometimes the quest for stability can be interrupted by the absolute necessity of staying in the league. "This is because the long-term aim becomes irrelevant if we aren't at the top level."

I hope Poyet gets a short team lease on his house!

And if we do go down I fail to see SAFC being the kind of business that gives Short the returns he would require for it to be viable. He's not daft, he's not here as his great grandfather twice removed had love with a lovely whore down Hendon docks in 1945. It's money and he's doing alright.

He's been let down by having no football advice in the boardroom, Quinn got too involved in the business and oversaw the biggest splurge of cash the club has ever seen but he should've been kept on as football advice. Jury is still out on Di Fanti but he hasn't covered himself in glory thus far.

With regards to Murray? Murray built us an amazing stadium, and put a far higher percentage of his total worth into the club than Short. Nothing is ever guaranteed at Sunderland, that's for sure.

Wonder what Margaret Byrne tells him ?

I'm sorry but what has Byrne actually done wrong? As far as I can see, off pitch she has managed to put in place a string of lucrative deals. People keep getting quoting the march interview, but it was no worse then the shite Quinny use to come out with.

Agree with the OP sentiments, our transfer dealings have been abysmal for a few years now & its gonna culminate in an embarrassing relegation that will take the club back years. Ellis Short needs to take responsibility for it.

We have spent more than we have sold under short
Thats the way it should be? he is the chairman ya knar?[DOUBLEPOST=1382259286][/DOUBLEPOST]

She made THAT statement which is gonna haunt Safc for a lot of years to come.

Chairmen of a company don't normally try to spend more than they bring in.

The problem
Seems to be according to most that he isn't just prepared to throw more and more money at the problem.

Just for fairness and comparison under Quinn we spent £85.5 million over 3 years.

However we were promoted as champions and had a 10th and 13th place finish.

Under Short we have spent less than a quarter of that amount and we are rock bottom. It's almost as if you need to buy decent players to maintain league position! I'm shocked.

09-10

Net spend £22 million

08-09

Net spend £19.5 million

07-08

Net spend £54 million

What a twat he is only spending £20m+ a year to keep us afloat. He should make it £50m and while he is at it give us another £30m to spend on players every year .

No one will listen to you. They just want someone to blame.

I remember Quinn and Drumaville getting slated for all of the mediocre players we paid over the odds for, gave massive contracts to and were subsequently lumbered with for years beyond we needed them. Before that the slating Bob Murray got on a regular basis. The only time we've really bothered to demonstrate was against him and that involved some serious bile.

Now people are looking back through some seriously rose-tinted glasses!

Yeah in transfer fee but stick the £50 million a season average over that time just for staying in the league if we finish bottom this season we will get £68 million then there's are sponsors which should cover running costs

Are you joking? Our wage bill is £65m a year. We are running at a loss of £25m a year.

Indeed, she said we'd never sell our best players as that's a relegation model

You have lost me now. Why do you think the club is still running despite making significant losses over a number of years?
Do you accept that we have a net spend under Shorts time at the club?
