Leeds boycotted for 16 years 😆 terrible attendances after the champions league years. Something sunderland have never had.

Sunderland have done nothing of note for 50 years, no euro football, about 3 top 10 finishes, no cups, record low points in the prem twice, double relegation, bought by chancers with its parachute payments, four seasons in league one and still beat and compete for attendances with Leeds utd that's had success and has a population/catchment of well over one million. Imagine if Sunderland were ever good.

As for ticket pricing, you charge what your location can afford, same with housing, food, beer etc etc. Sunderland on average is poorer that Leeds.

High prices, no doubt. But Leeds is also one of the country’s most prosperous cities and one of the biggest with a population around 3 to 4 times the size of Sunderland, not to mention all the support you draw in and dominate in from across north, west and east Yorkshire. Those factors balance that out a bit.

They used to take the lower allocations at some grounds as well. I’ve seen their own fans admit it themselves about how easy it used to be to get away tickets during their Ashley years. It’s why so many boot off now about the fact so many of their away ends are going to daytripper types now and lads and lasses who used to go but gave in their season tickets can’t get tickets anymore.

It's hard to get solid figures, but it appears that the average income in Leeds is around £8-10k more than Sunderland. That is quite a bit more available to spend on football. People don't realise just how deprived our region and city is compared to other areas, and that it makes our attendances even more impressive.

We have the best away support in the league too which is remarkable considering we have the furthest to travel, besides Plymouth.

You’re acting like Leeds is London. Leeds United’s support is predominantly working class. Would you pay £800 plus for the cheapest season ticket for next season?

Traditionally Wearside, the many towns and mining areas of Co Durham and South Tyneside were Sunderland strongholds.These areas have suffered high unemployment, movement of families to other coalfields in UK and social deprivation . In past assessments of average earnings of football fans in England we have been at the bottom of this financial league. In comparison NUFC were above mid table in being more prosperous in the same assessment.
This is the main reason that prices have been kept lower than average.
When the crowd limit at Roker Park was reduced to 21,000 in 1990’s for safety reasons and the Roker End proved to be crumbling and unsafe. This obviously kept the average crowds low until the SOL was completed and ready for occupancy.
A ground whose official attendance was 75,118 in 1933 and unofficial police estimates of over 70,000 crammed in and onto the cinder track and 50,000 locked out in 1964. I was one of them in that mad crush, who never got in and feel lucky that I survived when others perished.
Let’s see these records that these Leeds fans purport to be true ???
