Robinson is an excellent cricketer, and at 24 will only get better, with 10 yrs ahead of him injuries permitting.

I'm a Kent CCC member, and am not happy that he could potentially leave the club this season, as are many other members.

As much as Billings is a brilliant wicket-keeper/ batsman, and have Kent produced some amazing wicket-keepers going back to the 1880s: Tylecote, Hubble, Huish, Ames, Levett, Evans, Knott, Downton, Marsh, and now Billings and Robinson, he's 31 and goes awol in April each year to the IPL, and potential England call-ups.

We had the same problem in the late 70s when Paul Downton left as we had the icon of Kent, Alan Knott, keeping wicket.

Personally I'd keep Robinson as the wkt keeper/ batsmen, and play Billings at no 4 as purely a batsman, as Joe Denly is 36, and getting regularly injured at present.

Cox who Kent mention is a batsman who "can" keep, and my feelings on players described like that would get me banned!!

Wicketkeeper is a specialist position, just like a a goal keeper, and so needs a specialist!!!

Robinson is the future of Kent CCC, and shouldn't be allowed to leave at any costs.

I know he didn't pull any trees up recently with you, but his 206 not out, followed by a 50 show what a talent he is.......and the boy can keep!! And that's from someone who's seen some keepers in his time watching Kent.

If he does leave, Kent will be making a huge mistake, and any potential county will be getting a quality cricketer.

He is a deep south Southerner, he has no relationship with the North East. He was just another student visitor, one of thousands of middle class boys who came for a few years to a top University and then returned home afterwards.

If people were to investigate facts before making assumptions you will find out that one of his grandfather’s came from the NE, he still has lot’s of family in the NE and he is a Sunderland supporter.

Same is the case with Salisbury by the way (except the Sunderland bit).

He left straight after his Uni finals. Went straight to Hampshire to play in their seconds.
