Dutch towns/cities worth visiting for a day

The costal / beach bit near den hag is quite nice

Heerenveen is also quite nice, up in the north

Spent quite a bit of time there some years ago. Good place to visit. Groningen also good to see.

Honourable mentions to Utrecht, Volendam, Haarlem and Schevenigen.

If you're already in Rotterdam, you can spend the day at Kinderdijk windmills (250 years old , plenty of walking and cycling around there if you like that).

Groningen is good, cracking bars and loads of blaart

I was speaking to one of our account teams in Groningen on Friday, was thinking of booking a trip out there for a couple of days early May; sounds like a definite now

I used to live near Maastricht and there's some canny boozers and stunning birds knocking about there.

My brother in law lived near Maastricht too. Its a nice place, as is Roermond, which is mainly where we went when we visited. Holland and the Dutch are great.

Went to the Euros in 2000 which was in Netherlands and Belgium. One of the places we visited was Arnhem (saw Slovenia play Norway from memory). Went to the war/cemetery - very sobering experience.

Just somewhere with decent bars to have a dodge around on the evening, and the odd place to eat is enough

There are hundreds of British war cemeteries' from WW2 spread right across NL
Near me (Eindhoven) there is one in Valkenswaard and one in Geldrop/Mierlo from advance by XXX Corps to liberate Eindhoven in September 1944... a large part of NL wasn't liberated until year later (1945)
