Exactly. No point crawling along at 3 an over for an hour. I'd rather we smashed a quick 30/40 from the tail and got stuck into them. It is supposed to be dry from about midday onwards tomorrow so there should be enough time in the game if we bowl like we did in the first innings.

350 up Thorp and Borthwick getting a move on. Still going at a cracking rate tbf

I doubt we've been below 3 an over for the entire match. Proper little doom mongerer you.

400-8

Onions tried to run off the pitch and Declare but Mustard didn't want anything to do with it:eek:

declared, 2nd time they've done that this season, with Borthwick on 67 stopping him from beating his PB 68

Yep. 2nd time we've declared when SB was on 67. First time away to Worcestershire.

Bearing in mind he doesn't get 50 that often, it's somewhat harsh!

Pretty sure the reason we did not declare on 400 was that we were 2 balls into the over and as such that whole over would have been chalked off the remaining ones anyway if 5 balls were bowled and give SB the chance to get his high score. Might as well use the remaining 3 balls which we did to good effect scoring 2 further boundaries, but unfortunately for SB leaving Onions still on strike.

The 5th ball was an unplayable bouncer and probably a wide (not given) leaving Onions still on strike for the final ball when the declaration finally came causing no further reduction to the available overs in the day.

But it seems to have given them a few balls more chance to take the 9th wicket for nothing. I want more of a killer instinct, don't give them anything at all.

Given good weather we should pick up another max here.
