Durham v Kent (h) C.C. ( 3/4/26)

Covers are in the trapdoor stand, scaffold behind bowlers arm is over and in the seats.

Wicket soaked

To be fair, if the only ‘damage’ is to temporary structures there shouldn’t really be any hold up.

Aside from the wicket being wet, obviously, but even then, the sun is out and if it doesn’t rain any more that should be dry by the scheduled start time 🤷‍♂️

Yes, realistically from that information,it will be match abandoned 13pts

Why 🤷‍♂️

Genuinely not having a go at anyone here, but if the only damage is to temporary structures, all they need to do is clear the mess out the way and crack on.

I said to our group on Friday the ridiculous scaffolding for the side screen looked appalling, no shock to see that blown over.

As for the covers now in the trapdoor stand

Classic Durham this but that scaffolding seriously looked appalling, not sure who had that idea for April, absolutely crazy

If the damage is only in one part of the ground, all they need to is isolate it to prevent spectators from going near it.

The wet wicket can be dried fairly quickly. especially as it is still quite windy.

Absolutely this.

Don’t get all the bed wetting at all. Scaffold can be dismantled and removed fairly easily and fairly quickly (yes, I speak from experience).

Well having witnessed how the Grounds Team dealt with the boundary sponges being blown around on Friday, it does not surprise me that the covers have blown away.

Is it the hover cover that blew off the wicket or the plastic sheet? You would like to think they attempted to weigh down the sheets more than usual given the forecast for last night
