Durham v Kent (h) C.C. ( 3/4/26)

Carry On Cricket here. Umpires out in the middle deciding its OK to start and wave to the dressing rooms and all the players are inside watching the football so one umpire has to run off to tell them.

They’re absolute clowns. Not even two days into the season and they’ve already shown how utterly clueless they are.
It’s got very gloomy out there and looks like there’s rain on the horizon.

Hoying it down now. Covers on, evening session will be delayed. Don’t think Durham will mind too much in their position.

I don’t play cricket but that must be the worst way to get out. Hoping for a decent couple of hours 🤞
That plan worked for them, puts in leg slip, 2 balls later takes catch

Back off for bad light. Crazy 32 overs remaining
Don’t think there’ll be many left at the end, I’m giving it till 6, sun out, umpires waving for the players but they are probably watching the footy again 🤷🏻‍♂️

Batsmen came down the steps, umpires waved them back off, no idea what’s happening

Edit - waved on again just as spots of rain start falling 🤣

I left between innings. I couldn't be doing with the inevitable pissing about by the umpires, who for me have been a disgrace in respect of the delays. They set the bar when they came off yesterday when it was playable.

I'm pleased with the state of the game. There should be enough time for us to get a 400+ lead and we should have enough overs at them to force a win. It may depend on how much time gets lost tomorrow morning/early afternoon.

It was interesting to hear Raine's comments after the match,

- Potts came back from England duties raing to work hard and he's fitter than he's been recently and his pace is up.... .... it confirms to me that his time with England hasn't been good for him. I'm sure many of us thought the same like.
- They haven't played on a pitch like this at the Riv for a few years, it's got more carry than it had recently. Vic! Your job.
- Aldridge is quality and he's pleased he's shown it in his first match.

It's only been one day, but I'm feeling more confident than I was, that's for sure.

Said on here at the start of last season, England were messing Potts about big time and it clearly has affected his game massively. Hopefully we can see the old Matty Potts again
