Durham pre-season

3:15pm

Tea! Ryan Pringle and Ben Raine have combined to add an unbroken partnership of 92 before tea, frustrating the Yorkshire bowlers. The pair have played in a particularly aggressive fashion, especially of the spinners. However, they have also been fortunate on occasions, and with a little more luck for the White Rose, there would be more in the wicket column. Durham are 181 for 5 after 60 overs.

Roughly translated - Pringle and Raine have been brilliant.

3:58pm

Ryan Pringle has fallen to the bowling of Karl Carver, caught by Ben Coad at cover, for a well made 75. This brings an end to a 128-run partnership between Pringle and Ben Raine, who is 49 not out. Durham are 217 for 6 with 23 overs left in the day.

Durham (287; Pringle 75, Raine 71) vs Yorkshire (294/7)

Durham’s bowlers had their first run out of the season as Yorkshire made 294/7 on the second & final day of the two-day friendly at Senwes Park.

Senior paceman Chris Rushworth was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets as the bowling attack was rotated across the duration of the 90 overs in South Africa.

There was a return to action for Brydon Carse after his long injury lay-off during 2018 & he returned with a bang, taking the first two wickets to fall in consecutive balls. Harry Brook dragged the 23-year-old back onto the stumps before Gary Ballance shouldered arms to have his off stump disturbed.

Ryan Pringle had Adam Lyth caught at backward point while Matty Potts struck with the first ball of his spell, trapping Jack Leaning LBW.

Wicketkeeper Jonny Tattersall was the pick of the bowlers for the White Rose, scoring an unbeaten century.

Durham’s next two-day fixture starts against Nottinghamshire on Thursday.
