Still got to get through Origins, not really played it much I find it f***ing nails at times, like the random encounters piss me off. Might get it when I've finished Origins and it's down in price.

Yeah you have to save before you do anything I found. I'm playing my second play through now and finding it alot easier. I actually put some thought into balancing my team this time. I have found it good to give one person all the skills that make everyone attack them, such as taunt etc and let everyone else dish out the pain.

I've just been doing the auto level up for most of them, and not even bothered doing anything with tactics. I take it they help a lot?

Tactics make the game so much easier though it can take a while to set them up. Having a healer heal at a certain health % automatically etc is great.

Hell yes.

I must have completed the original about 5 times by now and I haven't played it for nearly a year. One of my favourite games of all time.

I just hope they don't dumb it down like they seem to be doing with every other RPG series.

You have to play with a set character on the new one. Not sure why they have done that? I guess it will be more for the cut scenes like on ME.

It's more like a 3d Baldurs Gate, excellent use of the D&D ruleset

DAO2 is a must buy for me this year, along with Two Worlds 2, Deus Ex 3, TES V etc etc etc

Luckily I am being made redundant so hopefully will be able to give those games the hours they deserve

Whats the first one most like? Oblivion? Fallout? If its too much RPG I'd probs get bored

Assume you are talking about Fallout 3 and New Vegas?

It's a proper RPG whilst Fallout 3 is more of a FPS with RPG elements (in my opinion).

Yeah you probably wouldn't like it mate.

Every cloud and all that

What is Two Worlds like mate? Saw that in the shop today and thought it looked good.

Just read that they're changing the dialogue system to that of ME.

Wait till it's cheap mate. Very average game.

Yup. Basic Roleplaying/MMO stuff.

First thing in any game like that you need a "tank" - takes all the damage and is setup to absorb it and get everythings attention.

the healer - who concentrates on healing the tank to keep him up.

the damage dealers - who deal the main damage

the crowd control - which are usually mages who can mesmerize and stop enemies attacking so you can concentrate on them in batches without being overwhelmed.

Doesn't take long to setup your party like this and give them 1 or 2 commands so they can auto fight to your instructions.

:-D

I enjoyed the first one, not everyone did, but it is pretty cheap now from somewhere like www.gog.com

The second one isn't out until next week but looks very good and it is out elsewhere in the world and the reports seem good from what I have seen.

Tank/Melee
Rogue/Archer
Healer
Damage dealing mage.

Dont auto level, think about what you want each to specialise in, pay attention to the auto combat slots and it was a doddle apart from a couple of fights, one of which was in one of the DLC's anyway.

Alistair + PC Mage + Wynne + Morrigan makes the combat so easy. Mages are far too powerful in the game.

I keep Morrigan in just to hear the banter between her and Alistair. The script and acting are brilliant. :)

Got DA:O on the PC but haven't played it for ages. Now ive got a shiny new ps3, not sure whether to buy it again and play through, or just get DA2 in a couple of weeks....
