this could not have been timed worse, just before the transfer window opens.

it should be done at the end of January and based on our transfer activity/expenditure, or lack of it. The January window will speak volumes about the owner, and clubs financial state.

if we have a poor window with lack of investment, little or no improvement in playing staff, it will be clear evidence we are fkd as a club. that was the time to turn on the owner.

starting this campaign now and potentially antagonising the owner might jeopardise the extent of the investment he was going to make.

We will soon find out.
1) parkinson has already said dont expect too much

2) the owner cant afford to spite us. He doesnt have the money and needs to sell the club for a good price

I don't want him to give Parky any money to spend. I want him to sack him.

I don't trust him to get the next appointment right either but at least he'd have rolled the dice.

Bets case scenario, they're both gone ASAP!

Isn't there a sellout allocation of 4000 going down to Donny? Think they could've maybe timed this announcement a bit better....calling for someone to go but then backing the team with a full allocation could be seen as a bit of a mixed message. Don't disagree with the sentiment or mean to be critical or anything but just think it could've been timed better.

The

joint statement: It might work, it might not. Donald might go, he might stay. But fair play to fans who want to at least say something rather than say nothing. To witness the state of it yesterday was shocking.

Local Television Media.

Read the other thread. All those 4K Sunderland fans should sing from the 1st minute, Donald out and not stop.

They should be doing a PP out not the owner.
I have to admit, I feel like Sunderland fans have a short memory on this one. Doesn't matter how much of his own coin he did or didn't spend to buy the club, we are still in business and that is debatable whether we would have been had it not been for him coming in.

He's made mistakes (clearly), but I think had our fan base not been so fickle he would have worked it out. Now I think he just wants shot of the whole thing.

Managers and players have long said there is something not quite right with the club, never thought it would be the fickle fans.

he’s been antagonising us for 18 months mate.

You don't think they wanted in and out for a profit quickly? I honestly can't get past that thought now, they simply had no strategy for a year two.

I don't. I think money was a major driver for them but I also think they saw a once in a lifetime chance to own a big club and hoped they could make it work. They knew they'd need investment, but I think the aim was to go up first season, get investment second and see if they could take us back to the PL within 5 years (at which point they'd get a massive profit). Said it before but Donald bought Eastleigh, you don't buy small non league teams if you don't love football and only care about money, it's virtually a money pit and a club like that has an exceptionally low ceiling. When he then saw he could get us he'd have been excited from a footballing perspective as well as a financial one. He's since been found to be totally out of his depth, however and the next thing he needs to do is accept that he can't turn this thing around and get out

All a fan can do is show they're unhappy by not attending. I stopped going after the first game v oxford as i just couldnt stomach another season of hope and being absolutely deflated every other week. I got a few dickheads on here giving me stick for it but as i said at the time, as a fan, my only course of action to show my unhappiness is to stop going and paying for my tickets.

Tbh its actually been a bit of a relief as i now dont have to convince the 2 younguns that we are gonna play well this week, we are gonna win, we are gonna move up the league etc etc knowing that its going be be another turgid afternoon for us. Awful that i feel this way about my club.

Yeah possibly, was just giving them the faintest benefit of the doubt.
The takeaway crispy fried duck pancakes I just had would have.
Would kill for summat like that right now, had gastric flu since Xmas Eve ffs.

Dont be a clown he should never have been allowed to control our club and the EFL should be investigated to why they allowed it to happen and how a club parachute money can be used in the purchase.

It’s clear as day he hasn’t got the money to run the club in its current state. He bought the club to make a quick profit, it’s not happening he needs to go now.
I agree with you on the statement of he hasn’t got the money to run the club properly. Do you feel he bought the club thinking we could get a quick promotion and then sell? He surely seems to have lost his way. SD doesn’t seem to be a horrible person and I wouldn’t mind him as an owner so long as he gets his act together. CM on the other hand is a snake oil salesman and I’m glad he’s gone.

That’s exactly what they tried to do.
