You said I was making stuff up, yer having a shocker pal, getting way to emotional over someone who disnae give a shyte about safc unless he makes some coin
Your having a shocker you haven't got a clue what your even saying on here. Breaking news a businessman wants to make a profit! That's never been seen before!!

I was firmly Donald out before watching STID 2 as I thought he was nothing but a bare faced list looking for a quick buck.

Now I just think he is totally out of his depth and incompetent.

I think a lot of the misinformation was orchestrated by Methven and Donald went along with taking advice from his PR and marketing specialist.

I believe he genuinely cares but must realise that his incompetence has led to our failure to get out of League 1 and he should accept he does not have the finances to continue and not be looking for a ridiculous profit on a "flip"

Any businessman of any competence would have been making plans to bring in other strikers when Maja first refused the contract on offer.

Maja's conversion rate was incredible and he should have realised keeping him till the end of the season was worth much more than the 1.5 million Euros from Bordeaux.

Had we gone up he could have offered him a further increase to Championship wages and he may well have stayed.

Agents are parasites but it's they way the game works and even offering him an incentive would have been acceptable if Maja's goals guaranteed promotion.

I’m not a huge Donald fan but the bloke can’t win at the moment. I can’t see much wrong from that statement.
nice to see the staff still on full pay. Like him or otherwise I don’t think he could have done much better. Fair play to the lad.

He brought one in with probably the best league one goal record in years. Everyone was pleased when we signed him. It didn't work out, his gamble didn't pay off.

People need to get over the Maja situation, he didn't want to be here move on.

Better ran clubs than us have struggled to get out of league one at first attempt, why should we be any different!

Yes he's made mistakes, people learn, in the midst of it all though he has done wonders with the finances and we can't knock him for that.

No he got it arse about face, Maja did not want to be here for money reasons. We should have had a striker lined up well before Maja left so we did not have to panic buy. And if the budget allowed for the wages and transfer fees of Grigg that budget should have been spent on Maja whose conversion rate was exceptional

So Maja didn't want to be here unless we hoyed money at him and you think the right thing to do was throw money at him. That's worked so well for us in the past.

Even with Maja we weren't going up, so we'd still be where we are now.

I can, he was told not spend that amount of money on Grigg. Fast forward to this summer and we didn't have a pot to piss in.

Oh and I have no faith in whatsoever to learn fro his mistakes

This is pretty much my view. Added to this is the problem of cutting to within and inch of your life. They cut so much they didn’t have the resources to keep us in the game. Negotiating outs when they had important aspects of the team to grow and maintain. No scouts. Short termist. Ultimately I think Donald wanted to do well and wants to do well but his business model was short term only and flawed and it’s biting him on thearse now. Never trust a man who drinks Kopparberg.

Essentially the bought the club with its own money then spent the next year frantically trying to cut costs as they had no liquid cash to sustain it. They destroyed the fabric of the club and we are now seeing the results of that.

Aye I found it odd that Ross clearly told him Grigg was not worth the money but SD seemed obsessed with doing the deal , should always listen to the manager or else sack them

It’s got nothing to do with the statement he made. It’s just that the die is cast for him now. He is a decent well intentioned and emotionally committed bloke who makes bad big decisions and choices (like no long term recruitment strategy, Grigg, Club Staff appointments etc) , who’s communication is either poor, dishonest or misleading, who’s weakened our team progressively since he took over, who does not have the wealth or experience to own SAFC. He can make statements about current reality all he likes. What he says now is irrelevant. Only what he does matters and because the reasons listed above, I hope what he does is sell the club and get out.

People may learn. Donald hasn’t.

How do you know he hasn't learnt? I'm pretty sure he'll not be making another Grigg mistake anytime soon.

What the hell was he meant to do, the club was haemorrhaging cash and heading into administration. Should he have just carried on paying daft wages to people that didn't deserve it or keep staff employed that were there for a premier League outfit. Haway man, you can't blame him for cutting costs!

Dear me, some people are easily swayed.
The bloke has convinced some that his intentions were and remain good. Not all are convinced particularly when he changes his story so frequently.

Truth is he has repeatedly made serious mistakes in terms of the people he has appointed in senior roles within the club and his handling of Maja, Grigg and FPP.

I’ve absolutely no confidence that he or those he surrounds himself with are equipped to get us promoted.

All we can hope is that when he does run out of money that he sells us to someone with the clout and acumen to get us headed in the right direction.

His regime has, after what appeared to be a bright start, been an unmitigated shambles.

SD is a good bloke but for me this epitomises why he shouldn't be here. Inexperienced amateur small time mentality issuing that statement.

The fans don't need to know anything in the statement so don't issue it.
Here we go - thought it was a long time😞

You only have to listen to what he said on talksport the other day to know he hasn’t learned. He’d make exactly the same mistake as he did with Grigg again given the chance (by his own admission as well) because he doesn’t know much about football. The only reason he won’t make a mistake as monumental again is because he hasn’t got the cash to do it. He’s every bit as dumb wrt football matters as he was back then.

I'm not easily swayed but want to be fair.
The problem with Maja was the contract and the agent. An extension should have been invoked after so many first team appearances and Donald is ensuring this is in place going forward, but he did not negotiate Maja contract. Club was poorly run in many respects.
Grigg would have been fine if he just scored and seemed ideal at this level. These things happen.
Was getting FPP involved not a good thing? I suppose he led us to believe they were taking over then it stalled. Probably should have kep quiet as things do change.
