We've just finished in our lowest ever position you clown.I think we're twisting like a kid who didn't win pass the parcel. We were really close to promotion and a cup win in the first season.
So you want us to keep a player who didn't want to play for us for 4 more months until his contract expired and he left for free?Errm Maja was under contract to us when he left - that is about as much in our gift as possible. One option could have been to sit him and his agent down and explain quite clearly we wouldn't be selling him and then he would have been ours until the end of the season and would have potentially been promoted. At that point Maja could have left for free (or small compensation) or signed a new contract if he chose to. How on earth can you think we couldn't have stopped him leaving when he was under contract to us?
Maja was asked what he wanted and his agent told us and we agreed to it. His agent then said he would be accepting and then he left.I don’t agree on Maja. They made a mess of it. Arrogance was the cause. You saw it happen- ‘they’re taking the piss’ to ‘offer them some more last minute’. As for a replacement .... he either stayed and they made that clear, or they planned for a replacement in advance not at the end of January. Sorry like but saying the club had no responsibility for the lack of early negotiation and the consequent bad signing is bollocks and a narrative they had you believe which was shown to be a balls up on TV.
As for struggling for investment, the whole world isn’t bankrupt. Investors invest in things that are good value. The profit comes when income goes up AND expenditure is under control. It doesn’t work without both. Our income has reduced has it not ? Our product is worse is it not ? If we were promoted last season or this season and had a sniff of premier league income and a parachute left would it not be easier to get investors ? Of course it would. Even from a business perspective they have made a hash of it. I’d say not investing in the playing side at all levels In the right way at the Right time will cost them a small fortune financially and has cost us fans a club making progress /hope. So ... what have they improved since they started? Name something.
So you want us to keep a player who didn't want to play for us for 4 more months until his contract expired and he left for free?
He clearly wanted the move, and keeping him here would have just pissed him off. Remember when Philips didn't want to be he, he just went through the motions.
Maja was asked what he wanted and his agent told us and we agreed to it. His agent then said he would be accepting and then he left.
Also, where does the money come from for extra investment you suggest?
And you need to deal with that reality, we're a league one club with no money from Sky and we don't have a billionaire owner. Crying at the owners because we didn't win the league is pointless. We've just finished in our lowest ever position you clown.
They have not withdrawn a penny of the parachute payments, it went as part of the deal with Short, which included paying off £137M of debt - very good business. The debt was written off which means there is no legal obligation to pay it back, but no money has been taken out. Effectively Donald owned Donald £20m, so he just scratched it.Extra investment you say? How about they repay the money they took I say.
Thus therefore no need to go looking for extra investment
And you need to deal with that reality, we're a league one club with no money from Sky and we don't have a billionaire owner. Crying at the owners because we didn't win the league is pointless.
We need to compete as we have no divine right to promotion. So many people still think we're a big club that can attract players on reputation alone, it's a myth, we were a big club but that was over 50 years ago now. Apart from 73 and a couple of good seasons we've done nothing.

He's free to put any amount of money into the club, but why should they put £20m of their own money with the way we go on?

Sorry, but disagree with the first sentence marra. However, I can see the logic in what you are saying in the second sentence about how it is fine margins.I think we're twisting like a kid who didn't win pass the parcel. We were really close to promotion and a cup win in the first season.
.

Explained it very badly trying too hard but we have ended up financially even which is some achievement given the starting point.debt free they said.
Or are you trying to rewrite history?

Agreed. Just tied themselves in knots trying to say Ellis was a great guy.Nope, they were initially very clear that the parachute payments were not going to Short. Until after they did.
Yep debt freedebt free they said.
Or are you trying to rewrite history?
Imagine wanting to win something instead of being an also ran. That must be what makes us different from all of the supporters of other clubs on the planet, what a nerve we have ay.Oh aye we really are.
100% a wind-up account
If they were putting in place a framework to get us back up the leagues a lot of fans (though not all) would still be giving them the benefit of the doubt. By this I mean:And you need to deal with that reality, we're a league one club with no money from Sky and we don't have a billionaire owner. Crying at the owners because we didn't win the league is pointless.

No thats not true and implied they were taking the piss and would cave in later. We said no chance then said yes much later when they'd already been ignored and spoken to others. Its on TV man.So you want us to keep a player who didn't want to play for us for 4 more months until his contract expired and he left for free?

Yep debt free
You are seriously deluded and there is no arguing with your level of stupidityAnd you need to deal with that reality, we're a league one club with no money from Sky and we don't have a billionaire owner. Crying at the owners because we didn't win the league is pointless.

Just because I have a different opinion?Oh aye we really are.

Two companies owned by SD and co owed money to each other - so that is not external debt.we were never debt free until they used parachute money to pay off the debts.
And we still arent debt free.
Wakey wakey sunshine
Sartori is a billionaireAnd you need to deal with that reality, we're a league one club with no money from Sky and we don't have a billionaire owner. Crying at the owners because we didn't win the league is pointless.
