Got one letter in the wrong place in my first go and got lucky with my second attempt with three in the right place.

Three today for me as well, best for me by a mile. Also lucky mind:
First line - nowt.
Second line - 1 letter, wrong place.
Third - bang on.

Just done my first one after reading your post, have never heard of Wordle before, managed it in four, par for the course or below average?

It could have been 4 but we forgot to add the letter that was in the wrong position.

4 for me today. Was worried when I got all greys on my first word.

3 today. Complete fluke mind.

First guess had no correct letters, which was actually more help than getting a correct letter in the wrong place.

Same here, then 2nd guess I got the first 2 letters correct (fluke) and also eliminated the 3 main vowels, the word was the only one that could work on my 3rd guess with the letters remaining.
Good that for my first go.
