Disney world Florida

We flew to Melbourne from Ponteland. Jumped in an Uber to Orlando, only took about an hour or so, the driver was canny and had a bit crack about US sports and "soccer". About x1000 preferable to driving to Manchester and back.
What’s the uber price around?

Quite a few comments about the option of flying and driving home from another UK airport here. Does nobody do NCL to Orlando via a connection, Heathrow, Paris (apparently hideous) Amsterdam? We're doing KLM via Amsterdam.
I've done that a few times. Adds extra time to the journey, but it was ok.

That is true. When we first went back in 2010 when we had 2 bags each and the pound was much stronger against the dollar we used the weekend days as shopping days in the outlets. When we were last there in 2018 we did things like discovery cove and kennedy space centre.

We are planning for Autumn 2027 for our next visit. I am hoping to use Avios to fly business class which I have never done. If I was to do that today it would cost £475 each return, with 180,000 points each. I will be using a companion voucher from the Amex BA premium plus credit card. So for the three of us that will be 360,000 Avios (180,000 + 180,000 + 0). I have 130,000 points so far. It is just a pain how there are no BA flights from Heathrow to Orlando so I could get the flight from Newcastle down and change there. Other options are Newcastle-Heathrow-Miami or Glasgow-Gatwick-Orlando or just drive to Gatwick, stay the night before and fly direct. The last option is probably what we will end up doing.

Aer Lingus fly from Manchester and they take Avios.

Go via Dublin, then you can fly from Ponteland. You also clear US immigration in Dublin so it’s much quicker to get out of Orlando airport.
Fly into terminal C which is so much better than the old terminals.
The only negative is the connecting flight on the way back, quite a few hours in Dublin airport.

It was about $100 once I added a tip. If you book the full package via TUI coach transfers are bundled into the overall cost but we booked flight and hotels ourselves, which saved a bit money on what we wanted to do.
Cheers. Just exploring options for our next trip to take hassle out of it for kids. Though youngest will have her own seat in plane this time so that’ll be a bonus.

Depends on the age. Toddlers are harder work on long haul than babies. They can’t sit still for that long. The number of parents you see following their kids up and down.

Probably been asked already but I can’t be bothered to hunt the thread but what months do people usually go ?

For us it’s always been end of April into May. When was a kid we went October but I can’t remember what weather was like.

Summer is boiling and miserably humid
Sept/Oct is better, but its bang in hurricane season. But its much better than summer
April is ideal imo - hot enough to sit out by the pool / water parks, nudging 30C. Low humidity, just a pleasant please to be - just avoid Easter and Spring Break
May as above, just a little hotter.

Of course, you can always just get unlucky. My folks went one May and there was a depression cycle going through. 2 weeks of grey skies and rain almost constantly and cool. So bad they came home and rebooked for September!

We’re just making our way through the months as to when next book as want to after encanto open, so that rules out our usual time of going and the early part of 2027. So looking like summer onwards. Couldn’t be hassle with rainy season and the stupid heat it brings. Then it’s Halloween period and early park closures for the parties. I’ve a feeling sept could be the winner if they’ve opened canto.

We've done Sept a few times, its good. Avoid labour day weekend though, unless you can do something else those 3 days.

I've been June, November, December and January. November was best for weather out of those.

I’ve been in October and also August. Most recent one a couple of months ago was end of August and into the first week of September. It has a reputation of best avoiding that time of year for the hurricanes and rain but it was no bother at all in all honesty, as were my previous August visits. Aye we got some rain but the days it did rain, the pattern was pretty much the same. Starts off beautiful blue skies and red hot by 11:30ish, a storm mid afternoon for an hour or so, then blue skies and cracking the pavements again.

Was only one day it didn’t stick to that pattern. Storm started probably around tea time and lasted the rest of the night until we went to bed. I love storms so wasn’t bothered and it didn’t start until we had left the park anyway and back at the hotel so I was happy enough watching with a few beers.

Only potential issue that time of year is at times it arguably felt too hot. But if you’re sensible and seek plenty shade and drinks breaks you can manage fine.

End of 2 weeks there today with the extended family. Very enjoyable but a few notes taken for next time.
Magic kingdom is always packed, far too busy to get a really enjoyable day out of it.
Epcot is underrated in my opinion, very enjoyable day there wish we did two.
New universal Epic park is very good, look forward to a good few years time when it won't be as busy and can actually do a few of the bigger rides.
Still a magical place overvall and all the kids first time there and they absolutely loved it.

I think you're right on MK and Epcot, the latter is a superb place - something for everyone.

MK only works on a morning for me - we did a counter strategy when we last went - rope drop, but avoided big rides. We'd done about 10 things by lunchtime and the kids didn't know what had hit them, it was ace.
