Dicks future in doubt again

I won't believe it until I see some direct quotes from the mana...oh. Nah fuck it, I think I'll believe some tenuous transfer link from goal.com and ignore this.

@Nelson! spot on as usual.

Its averaged twenty to thirty mill a season every season I would say.

I'd say a tad lower than that. A while back I worked out that he'd invested pretty much what the club would be worth (£140M) and since then he's cut his spending back and changed his mode of investment. I'm not knocking the bloke but he's no benefactor, he's reached this point because he's at the absolute limit of what he can reasonably expect to claw back.

Err we all trusted MON & Poyet, Shorts been fooked over by established names I have some sympathy
We all trusted them my god anyone with half a brain would not have signed any of these useless twats especially Fletcher £14 mill for an average championship player but yet we still play Fletcher or Graham when they are in the final year of their contracts would any other club with any ambition would do that? None they would tell their agents to find another club because they would not be part of the first team but hey this is SAFC clueless & will still have Ged running the Academy my god its unbelievable the way this club is run from top to bottom the lunstics are truly running the asylum.

I'm not really comfortable with public threats. If Advocaat has issues it should be taken up in a professional way direct with Short and not through a press conference.

That doesn't work though, because if it's all behind closed doors it leaves the fans unsure of who is responsible and where to direct their anger.

This way Short knows that there will be no uncertainty over who is holding us back......and if he doesn't back DA, causing him to walk, he'll be the one taking all of the flak for essentially relegating us.

He hasn't said anything insulting or untrue.....he's just letting us all know the score.

He is in a strong position, he doesn't need the job and can walk away without a care in the world. I think he'll do exactly that without backing this week

This.

Dick is going to walk if Short doesn't back, and if he walks, there will be no question as to why.

Look at it this way, he's prolly furious. He was coaxed out of retirement on the promise of 6 new quality players and we've brought in two quality players and 3 squad fillers.

He's not mincing words and who could blame him?

He doesn't need the job and is saying it how it is imo. Ball firmly in short's court.

Now isn't the time to fuck up and get relegated, but thats exactly where we are heading if we don't buy quality this week

This...he's exactly what we need as he's not some wet behind the ears young coach toeing the party line and frightened to speak out for fear of the sack, the man don't give a f*ck as he wants to do what is best for the club and not himself.

Would not blame him one bit if he did walk...they were desperate to get him back and they need to deliver and back him like they promised.

This is a battle DA must win imo for the immediate wellbeing of the club.

Maybe dick will now be banned or have his meals revoked.

Dick seems like one of the most straight forward honest managers we've ever had so it's must have took a lot to lead him to saying this, no more transfers close either, pathetic.

Wouldn't blame dick one bit if he walked

Maybe he has and has ended up with fuck all which is what he has said already!

Well then he should consider his position and decide either to get on with the job with the restrictions or leave. It is ludicrous to suggest he is unhappy to the press to pressurise Short to divvy up more cash.

I'm pretty disappointed with Advocaat to be honest.

He has already said he has spoken to Short, this must be his last resort.

Devil is a

Devil is a bit strong, buthe has been putting his head in the sand due to his own poor appointments and has to learn to trust again.
What would you call him? I say petty, stupid & incompetent & he still cant see that £21 million is peanuts to him he has invested big money get real Short because if thats what you think buys you quality then think again because you are deluded

The press conference is on SAFSEE now... just watched it, he looks pretty cheesed off. Apparently he carried a piece of paper in with 'don't laugh' written on it in Dutch.
