Dicks future in doubt again

What makes me laugh now is when posters say aye but don't forget about signing on fees and wages as if we are the only club in the country who pays them

Exactly, my hope, albeit a wavering one, is that Short realises that the seriousness of the situation if he does walk and realises it isn't somethimg he can risk. Potentially shit or bust this like.
I'm not looking forward to deadline day, be glued to the telly and I bet nowt happen ya nar.

It's doing not on the cheap but doing a fuckng bad bad job of it, you have to question those handing out these deals and the people who put them in their jobs. What a joke.
That lots all down to Di Fanti who was one really disastrous appointment Ellis Short has made..........

He tried a change of policy with a DOF but appointed a total charlatan..........

Short needs to find out what needs to be done to keep Dick happy. He needs to ensure Dick stays. Those posters saying feck him if he walks etc need to give their heads a shake.
He is a manager who I believe can keep us up, the alternative is frightening.

But it isn't quite as easy as that, is it? For example, to keep DA happy it may take £30m in transfer fees and £20m in wages. Should we commit to that and still go down what position will we be in? How many ordinary people will have to be made redundant? Will we be in a Portsmouth/Leeds predicament? Short has to balance these things and it's difficult. Everybody has a different view on where the balance should be found and especially fans who notoriously love to splash other people's cash about.

these words he is quoting aren't exactly doing us any favours when trying to persuade prospective players to come here. In effect he is complaining about a lack of signings whilst making Congerton's job more difficult

He didn't though did he? Well at least not according to him.
To be honest that's the most worrying thing for me, it seems there was absolutely no plan and nobody knew what was going on.
Could have sworn Dick came out and said that he came back after Ellis told him he'd invest, but not how much. Ellis has invested, but only a pittance.

If Dick leaves the chances of us going down increase dramatically. Your example there does not mean we will do a Portsmouth.
Just my opinion, but with Dick at the helm we have a chance, without him we have no chance. Give him what he wants.

Thing is things said to the press are kind of like when the company big boss asks someone at the bottom how things are...."Good sir" is normally the reply.
It's the party line, but keep pushing someone and they start to crack, that's when you hear their true feelings.

That's how I see Dick's interviews, mostly the party line, then the occasional slip to what he truly feels.
Been there myself with my own company, you can only take so much shit from customers to protect your boss before you crack.

I have also been there, occasionally you have to agree with the customers, or in this case supporters

His mates son apparently, terrible decision.

What do you expect him to say when he's asked the question, it's clear he's frustrated in how it's going and something is not right. Should he lie to press and fans?. He owes zero to short nothing at all it's the other way around, he's a proud manager that's seen it all short is nowt to him ffs.

Maybe the only way to get rid of some of this team .is to go down its got to happen sooner or later ,I don't mind championship football quite exciting realy .a fresh is what we need .it's got to happen every body knows it .

How do you know we won't do a Portsmouth? It's speculation - Short and Co are best placed to judge that and as I said people will believe the balance is different.

You cannot just give him what he wants. Well, we can't.
