No.His main failing was he could not receive a ball from a keeper/full back control it then turn and go. Lost possession numerous times leaving the opposition a clear run towards goal. FACT. Never improved over the last 2 seasons .Sorry to say but to me he had peaked with no signs of going to the next level.My opinion,lot's will disagree .Dan Neil has scored or created a goal on 30 occasions in 180 games for us at the lower levels. 1 in 5, Obviously if he was a regular in our Premier League team those stats would go down, he looks like he might score maybe 2 a season and assist twice.
Then look at all of the other things you would expect from a competent Premier League midfielder to do well.
Tackling.
Passing.
Pace.
Heading.
Running with the ball.
Awareness and positioning.
Is he really good enough for this level ?
