Dan Neil


That cos Riggs aint a Right midfielder. Definately not suit him. He look usually uncomfortable there. RLB said his defence attrubution and work rate and played him there. But going forward, no. Such a shame really.

Maybe because dan deil offers more in attack and in defense. Surely you didn’t enjoy watching rigg last night. We should sell or loan out rigg if we want him to improve. He’s definitely not capable of being a starter in this league

Rigg has only played in cm for about an hour this season. Nearly all his minutes has been on the wing.

So do you want Neil on the wing instead like?

He's played then when initially introduced, he played there last season.

No one expects winger like play from him out there, chances created etc - that isn't the issue with him. Physically he simply isn't ready yet - that's why he looks uncomfortable.
 
A lot of people forgetting DN has spent time at lb, lm, rw and am. He can cover positions.

He could have been given more game time over the last few weeks definitely but it is what it is. Seems apparent that the writing is on the wall for him.

Completely agree. Xhaka is our best player however players like him, geetruida both looked flat last night which is due to how many games they’ve played recently

Would be worth a try with how poor rigg was. Personally I would have started Mayenda but would try neil if mayenda isn’t gonna start

Rigg isn't being played for creativity, just as well as he hasn't shown any. He's being played as the head coach wants stability and work ethic over creativity and rarely allows us to play in the PL with two wide players.

Given what Rigg has offered there this season there is absolutely no reason why Neil, Onien or any of the others couldn't have done similar, even if wide is one of the last places they should play - he has been that poor with the basics.

Agree. Feel very sorry for him especially after how much he’s done for the club. He definitely wouldn’t have done worse than Rigg at RW last night

Yeah, I am not saying Neil should be starting regularly for Sunderland just like to completely freeze him out when players are dead on their feet and we have players missing, I don't really get myself.

Like just a slight bit of rotation might have helped at some point, who knows. Very strange considering loads of others players from last year been used

I dont get this forum, Dan Neil actuallt gets loads of stick despite the fact he has not played this season, and helped drag us up 2 promotions and literally captained us to promtoion in his last start

We need to sell him and let him get a career going again as its not fair on him to be just frozen out for a year of his life.

He’s just not big enough or fast enough. He looks his age when he’s playing in the premier league.
