Dan Neil

I dunno how you can say with a straight face that RLB would pick someone because wants to raise his fee

Like you know that’s totally untrue and he would never do it

Ludicrous post
Well it’s probably at the stage now where they won’t do it. Why do you think Chris Rigg keeps getting minutes, because he totally deserves it from previous performances? RLB won’t be the only decision maker here, players are worth too much money to clubs, especially home grown.

I can’t actually believe you think RLB gets told who to pick. Are you on a wind up?

All I’m saying mate is that if DN had of had more than a few months left on his contract & he had committed to the club when he was supposedly offered a deal, he would have seen more minutes this season than he has done.

So how has cirkin been getting games then?

I don’t think Cirkin turned down a contract. I think it was more the club waiting to see if he could get over his problems before making him an offer.
Him and Neil both offered deals in the championship and neither signed. Think Speakman might even have said they were postponing talks with both after neither signed.

He did, both of them did.

Unless you’re Man Utd in the 90’s (and still even then) clubs think they can lowball you if you have an emotional attachment to a club, some kind of loyalty.

It’s cutthroat as fuck on both sides. I’ve no problem with the club saying no or the players saying no.

My concern is the club thinking they can replace them with similar or better. Now they have a track record of doing so I’m hoping they will.

If they don’t then there’s rightly questions to answer. If both of them go they’ll get money either equivalent or better than what we offered

Certainly in talks
TBH mate I’m only going off what I’ve read on here, no one knows for sure what has & hasn’t been offered unless someone knows them personally. It’s just seems strange that DN hasn’t had a look in when he was deemed one of our best players just months ago. I know he has his weaknesses but I’d have had him as more of an asset than Hume or Ballard just a mere few months ago.

Yeah, they probably will as we were a championship club when/if the offers were made. Putting myself in their shoes I’d have probably signed then hopefully give the club no choice but to offer a better deal to keep me when they seen me play in the premiership. Other players signed new contracts without any problems so we must have been offering ball park numbers.

Dont know obviously but given i cant see him ever starting and the potential for us to make an opportunistic signing late window its well possible . All depend on offers I suppose and how much he thinks he'll bank as a free agent .
I think he's definitely history waiting to happen though
I think it’s very clear he is away. I just am wondering if he goes in January or the summer. I’m guessing he can’t be forced out so he will stay until the summer where I believe he can cash in for himself and I for one don’t begrudge the lad it.

I think you maybe wrong on that front . Neil , I can't see getting many minutes in the new squad. He is, as I've said numerous times in the past posts, too slow to get away from a man, turns around into trouble much like Bellingham did, and his lack of awareness in spotting that early pass will be just three of the reasons. One other reason I believe will be a concern is his quickness of mind to make a decision. No, Can will always be a "Til the Ender" for me and will always be one of our Lads.

I disagree, who would he have got in the team for?

Rangers would be a great move for him.

Don’t think it will, he’d be more suited to a middling European outfit where he gets more time on the ball.

Up there, especially for an old firm club you’re expected to control a game fully or run your bollocks off, neither of which is Dan Neil.

Hope I’m wrong, in his position I’d ask for us to table what they offered and sign it. Then back myself to get in when someone gets injured or out of form. Or just study Xhaka in training til I could reliably cover.
