Dan Neil

U know nothing about football if u think we didn’t play well tonight and got lucky mate.

We went with a plan to frustrate and limit Coventrys attacking threats.

We sacrificed the ball and limited them to the odd scramble here and there and then took our chances when they committed too many players forward.

The second goal was a bad mistake but mayenda is the only one anticipating he might leave the pass short.

That’s just luck !! It’s clever play.
Mayenda was on his toes as soon as he saw the possible back pass. Very few opportunities but was there when it counted.

In your opinion, in my opinion you come across as a bit of a prick.
As I say, I wasn't the one looking to dig out other posters after a great win. In fairness though that wasn't you, others had got me back up and if my response to your post was a bit strong, I apologise. I was however generalising, and stick by Ballard being MOTM by some distance.

Fair play, all about opinions.

This. Plus, the back pass was a mistake, but it wasn’t an unforced error. Pressure from Enzo breathing down his neck was key.

I voted for Mayenda but on looking back at the match sober, Ballard was outstanding, some of his tackles blocks and headers were different class, but no one played badly. For once in a long while they were all on the same page.

We got lucky tonight. We could have most 3-1 easily, but let’s enjoy it and move on. But we didn’t play well and it wasn’t a good performance anyone who thinks we played well rewatch the game. But it doesn’t matter!

But gee if we get to the final we’re mikes off beating Sheff U.
Tell me you know nothing about tactics without telling me! Jesus wept man.

It's a fine line for the club to walk with Neil. We can't be overly sentimental. I want us to give him a chance to step up but we've got to consider that he might not be able to.

I wouldn't want to be tying him to five years here. Is he now at his maximum value?

He can definitely be a good player, but was shockingly bad in the playoff final.

That can happen though. I certainly would like to keep him but we can't let him run down his contract, and I'd be worried if he was first choice in midfield next season.

I've watched a full replay twice .Suggest some should do the same .Neil wasn't shockingly bad . He did make a couple of misplaced passes but no more than his fellow midfielders . Not sure what he could have done for their goal, perhaps he could have wiped Hamer out .
He said he was cramping up badly from 55 minutes but didnt go off for another 15 minutes.
We looked better once he went off but that was more the change of shape than his performance . At that stage of the match we didn't need two defensive midfielders Jobe supported by Le Fee was much more effective .
Neil is more than worth his place in our squad for next season in the Premiership, especially if Jobe leaves .
