Really?

Cirkin and Ballard for the period he was on done more.

Jobe will get attention because he's a modern midfielder and mostly because of his family name. He's mostly quite average though, a bit to ungainly on the ball at times and his ceiling appears to be nowhere near where some think - unless he has something akin to what Bale did around 20/21 and becomes much quicker and stronger.

He'll get a good move off the back of some of those things and this summer looks likes it'll be the best time to cash in and move him on.

Whenever we were under pressure in MF , we passed it to him , he shielded it turned and moved into space and found a team mate, he makes it look so easy thats why imo , people don't get how good he is. 19yr old , big strong , sees a pass , makes good runs , he's got it all.

I wouldn't be the tethered about selling any of the three midfielders, apart from the fact we'd somehow have to replace them and have no one ready to step in.

Neil has had about 3 better games than Jobe all season. Jobes form admittedly fell off a cliff pretty much the time elf came in but he's still consistently better than Neil, weather that's playing a 6.3 as opposed to a 6, the point remains. You take jobe out of the squad and we wouldn't have finished 4th.

I'd sell everyone for more than they are worth but buying players with ability to go up from this division will prove difficult. Buying someone of his current ability in this division would be next to impossible, the other 2, not so much.

Jobes form dropped off earlier than Le Fee coming. Earlier in the season he had virtually no real defensive responsibility barring getting back into shape as Le Bris wanted to play some mad rigid three (and he tried it again when Samed came in). Given we were struggling to get out and Neil was getting caught on the ball there were some tweaks made, tweaks which helped out Neil and initially made Jobe a more rounded midfielder. But his form started to drop off late last year - maybe it was Mundle's abscence or Cirkin lack of forward freedom and a general tightening up I'm not sure. But where he'd been a match winner on occasions his play become much more sterile. There was a couple of months where Neil's form was much better.

I see him do that regularly but it generally amounts to playing with his back to goal almost as a target man laying the ball off. Certainly he's improved from last season as he was unable to take the ball on the half turn at all and generally gave it straight away. He generally doesn't achieve anything
barring a simple sideways pass. Good team play - yes, but not 'having it all'.

Even when he's got the ball looking forward these days it's never more than a sideways pass and he's basically gave up carrying it or driving forward. He's decent enough Championship but it's mostly standard stuff - I think he's gradually moved backwards in midfield.

Earlier in the season he was receiving the ball and flicking/spinning it on the half turn, as a team we were doing that often. We've been caught so often now that we don't do it so much.

Oh Pear. He was excellent against stoke x2, Swansea, Norwich and Sheffield utd, and fine against Bristol and Portsmouth the month before le fee came him.

His form tailed off on the 15th of January against Burnley, same day there or there about as Le Fee joined.

Neil hasn't had good months of form let alone better than Jobe, just the odd good game, nothing consistent.
 
Remember that move early in the first half, 0-0, Rigg did his bit admirably, then Jobe, playing it out to Neil, who may as well have shit himself the way he got the ball caught up in his feet and was dispossessed. Set the tone for the rest of his game. Rank.

Jobe was as bad as everyone else today again.

He’s been as bad as everyone else for 2/3 months.

Wants far too much time on the ball.

Don’t get me wrong I think he’s a great talent and was fantastic until end of jan but since then he’s looked like rigg in that they’ve peaked this season early.

What. The one where Jobe had time to play le fee into almost half a pitch but didn’t and then fired into Dan Neil’s feet ?? Instead of in front or just seeing the easy through ball ??

Dan was poor today but so was everyone else.

Untrue. His form tailed off much earlier than that. He became quite limited in what he was doing, maybe more restricted, but was absolutely playing more simply and had regressed and he's been average at best.

Neil had two solid good months of form where he was stand out and some of of that he looked far above anything anyone else in the squad has barring a couple of cameos from Le Fee. It didn't last either, but it's nonsense ti suggest Jobe has always been at a higher level as its just not true.

Neil has the technical ability and has improved in lookong after the ball and being able to get away from opposition players in tight areas. Jobe has the physicality, occasionally he has decent feet but apart from having got better at protecting the ball he doesn't use his physicality in an attacking sense often enough so may end up moving further back. Neither look guaranteed to step up. Jobe will likely get a better chance because of age and who his brother is and Neil needs to do it sooner rather than later if he's ever going to do it.

It is true Pear, that's why I said it.

The month before Le Fee came in, he was excellent against Stoke, Swansea, Norwich, Stoke and Sheff U, he was good against Bristol and Portsmouth and ropey against Blackburn. I highly doubt you can dispute those specific games as opposed to just off the cuff, Jobe bad, Dan good, because of how good he was, so you were mistaken, no problem. I imagine you're talking about two poor games in November, one of which he was sent off. 2 games in amongst nearly all the others from the start of the season he was up for consideration as MOTM, does not constitute a loss of form.

It's my perspective Rocky, I wouldn't have said it otherwise. If you or anyone can dispute it in detail, I'd happily see if my perspective will change on the back of it.

But I imagine it'll just be your wrong, or Dan Neil had a phantom couple of months that he was great and should win pots.

Well Sheff Utd away despite defeat was as good as we've played away from home this season..Dan Neil was a big part of that, to say he didn't play well that game imo is just simply wrong

So what ceiling are you talking about ? Premier league player?
I’ve read anyone claim he was going to be international class. As you say his pace will probably limit his potential.
But I can’t see why anyone would doubt that this strong intelligent footballer won’t play in the top league of this or another country.

You seem to be suggesting that what ever he is he won’t deserve it, I mean what’s wrong with being a modern midfielder? 🤷‍♂️.

He was also my MOTM on Saturday
