Nah the palace play off was canny well attended tbh. Like you say it was 34,500 but that was significantly up on our average of about 26,000. Mind @SafcForeverFTM makes a fair point, they had a fair few up for it, not sure it was 6000 mind. Still, the home end was a bit above the average.
Looking back at the YouTube footage, it looks only about 3,500 not 6,000, I thought they had the whole South Stand, they only filled half.

The ground is way too big for us on average.

Should’ve been built at about 35k. Build up the demand so tickets are like gold dust. That’s what the mags did years ago and many up there amongst my friends were reluctant to give up ST’s for years because of it.

Murray was so obsessed at keeping up with the Jones’s instead of investing in the team.
The north stand extension was a dreadful decision really.

The reaction to the price being set at £20 summed up some of our fans.

The pubs in town on Saturday will be heaving and people will be spending greater than £20 watching it on the tele.

So disappointed.
Agreed. Couple pads at work haven't shut up about the play offs since last week. They've attended 5 games between them this season and have no intention on going on Saturday.

Have said this many a time. Shouldn't have done it. Don't buy the excuse that it had to be done then or couldn't have been done at all either. Some still chirp on about us maybe extending the ground one day. Absolute insanity.

Really really really poor if we don’t shift 35+
Pathetic when the pubs will be rammed

Might help if the ticket office ever picked up the phone mind or the website wasn’t total shit

Just bought 3 in the Roker End, held of getting my SC seat as wanted one for the bairn to stand next to me.

Couldn't believe how many seats available, couldn't give a shite how many stay away.

Ha'way The Lads!

Its amazing how people can put a negative spin on stuff. These tickets went on sale on Sunday I think and it seems we have already sold 18585 as of a few mins ago. That does not include away tickets and corporate so basically from a standing start of zero 3 days ago, we have shifted probably 22,000 so far. There are three days to go plus match day (when a lot will pay at the ticket office due to the short notice and hassle of getting them on line). Crowd will most probably comfortably beat our season average of 32,000 and be one of the highest ever if not the highest ever league one play off semi final crowd.

But crack on with the negativity people........

Not advocating it for one minute but it could if they think fans are voting with their feet

Its far more likely that in an area like ours after going to Wembley 5 or 6 weeks back, people are holding their cash in case of another trip South. How many will think 'I can watch the home and away leg of the play offs on the telly and use the cash I saved for transport down to Wembley'? I think a lot will be in that camp. If I was short of cash I would do that myself as would hate to miss Wembley if we get there.

My problem is not the cash but tying up yet another bank holiday weekend when the wife is off work through the football. Thankfully we have a two and a half week holiday booked in June otherwise I think she would be well pissed off.

This is because people are like f***ing sheep. If a group of 6 attend every week and a few of them suggest the town maybe a better option they will all probably choose to do the same thing.
Then you have the shit scared Sunderland fans who are under the thumb and will have to take their orange painted partner round the town on a Saturday night .
