This, exactly. It just so happens that lots of people like to watch it.I hate footballing snobs.
It's like when Wenger used to complain about teams that wouldn't let his flowery little Arsenal side run rings about them.
Fuck 'em. You do what you need to do to win. That's all it comes down to.
This isn't theatre. It's not even entertainment really. It's football. It's competition.
VAR will rule out almost all of their goals.Fair enough...Luton deserved it on the night. When we had clobbered like cattermole we clobbered. That said, if u get promoted it'll not wash in the premier league
Is absolutely pathetic. It's accepted by all, yes even Sunderland fans, that your players in comparison to Luton's, are small. Luton had tall forwards and midfielders. Do you REALLY think that should the roles be reversed, you wouldn't utilize the height differential to your benefit?
Luton were only using a very obvious advantage. You hardly created a chance all game and you didn't deserve to go through to the final. You were desperate and got what you deserved. The long ball argument some are trying to criticize is pathetic.
You’re forgetting the 3 worst challenges in the first leg were all by Sunderland players. What about all the dirty tackles? Is that a legitimate tactic? (I lost count of the times ref played advantage and failed to go back and book a Luton player) Or fans assaulting players? Or handball in the area?

You're right I am. Can you enlighten me?You’re forgetting the 3 worst challenges in the first leg were all by Sunderland players.
He may well have been sent off yes, but none of his challenges were worse than O9’s, Neil’s or Gelhardt’s.Nakamba could easily had a red for his first yellow and, incredibly, didn't get a second later on.
That means we have to put up with them & their stupid f***ing bandanas again next season ffsI don't think Luton will get the win in the final. Whether they get a Boro or Coventry they'll come up against a side with centre halves playing in defence and strikers up front. The way they played was effective against us, it won't be effective against them.
Pro football is supposed to be an entertainment that people pay to watch. Personally I wouldn't pay to watch that, but I can understand the folk of Luton doing so, as there is sod all else to do there except watch thetrafic lights change in the town centreIs absolutely pathetic. Who this mouth-breather, and who left open the window that allowed them to crawl in ?Is absolutely pathetic. Saudi ArabiaYeah pretty much, they did well considering the injuries though. Who do you support?
Remember when we would famously play the ball on the floor in the six yard box with Niall Quinn, refusing to use his height and size due it being an ugly and unfair advantageMakes me laugh that some of Sunderland’s biggest cult heroes of recent years, the likes of Bally, Alex Rae, Cattermole, loved a challenge, loved getting fired in and were dirty buggers on the pitch. Fans would love their tackles, whether they were on the right side of the law or not, it showed their passion and desire. As soon as someone else has the cheek to play like that against Sunderland the toys are out the pram, the meltdown is ridiculous.
Some of our football this season has been terrific, best footballing side in the division on our day. What sense would it make for Luton to try and beat us at the passing game? Do you honestly expect a bunch of giants not to exploit the size difference? Bit like a lower league side playing a PL side in the cup, they're not going to start play open expansive football are they? They’ll get ripped to shreds. The game plan will always be to get fired in, close down the footballers and flair players, not give them a second on the ball, rough them up, knock them off their game, anything else is football suicide. That was Luton’s game plan last night and I’ve got to say they executed it perfectly, fair play to them.
So if Sunderland played like that and got to third in the championship, won the play-off semi final, you wouldn’t have gone to semi-final or Wembley?Pro football is supposed to be an entertainment that people pay to watch.
