Criticising Luton long ball

There’s no point in engaging with him at all mate. He’s one of the crowd who seem to revel in a defeat so he can come on and blow smoke up the opposition’s arse. Luton’s captain even admitted they played dirty but some bloke on a message board still argues otherwise.
You are right, he has only popped up now the seasons over. Don't understand why you would revel in our defeat. Each to their own though

Yes, terrible. Are you ignoring the fact that they have committed more fouls in the league than anyone else and our home game to suit your contrarian agenda? You can see with your own eyes they are a dirty team. And stats back it up. If you cannot see this, I question your football knowledge
They’re a physical side who get stuck in, haven’t got a problem with that at all. Fouls come with the territory, I’ve not once said Luton aren’t dirty. Would much rather watch a hard game than a bunch of fannies falling over when someone breaths on them, which is what you see in the PL these days. Like I’ve said earlier some of Sunderland’s biggest cult heroes of recent years were dirty bastards, nobody had a problem with fouling then!

Anyway, my point remains, Luton may well be physical and dirty yet it was still Sunderland who committed the three worst fouls in the first leg proving we’re no angels ourselves. Stats don’t always give you a true picture either, O9 (love him to bits btw) has got away with a hell of a lot this season, some terrible challenges which haven’t been picked up or punished properly. Interesting to also note that Sunderland are below Luton in the fair play table this season.

Is absolutely pathetic. It's accepted by all, yes even Sunderland fans, that your players in comparison to Luton's, are small. Luton had tall forwards and midfielders. Do you REALLY think that should the roles be reversed, you wouldn't utilize the height differential to your benefit?

Luton were only using a very obvious advantage. You hardly created a chance all game and you didn't deserve to go through to the final. You were desperate and got what you deserved. The long ball argument some are trying to criticize is pathetic.
Made an account to post this, only pathetic one is you. Now jog on

I think it was Matt Holland on the Talks port commentary last night who said "It's like beauty vs the beast, unfortunately the beast is winning".

Basically they played the only type of football they are capable of. It worked well against our depleted team, we couldn't cope.

Well done to them. But I'd hate to watch that every week.

Not sour grapes but I think Boro or Coventry will beat them.

I don’t think it is the only way they can play. I think it’s the way they chose to play against us because they were playing us. They’d done their homework, and their small pitch made it even more effective. They were 3rd for a reason.

I can take defeat with dignity mate and not cry like a bairn that the other team only won because they were really nasty and mean. Luton did a job on us last night, they executed a clever game plan perfectly, no complaints at all as it could well have been 4 or 5. Seems to be a recurring them amongst some that as soon as we lose a game you start twining about the ref, the rules and the naughty opposition. It’s pathetic in all honesty.

You've just said stats don't give a true picture, then used stats at the end of your waffle. Make your mind up

Haha new member 🙄 mind I do agree. Luton did perfectly what they needed to do. You don’t get style points you just get 3 points or passage to the next round. If I was a Luton fan I’d be absolutely cock a hoop. So fair play to luton

Mind I think you’ll get beat at Wembley and we’ll be stronger next year and finish above you 😉💪

I think you'll find that the way they played last night is pretty much their basic style. Variations on occasions.

Your grip of the English language is even more pathetic in all honesty.

He will just twist things to suit his own agenda.

They use the dark arts to their advantage. The amount of times they stopped our players turning with little niggling fouls is a disgrace.Refs need to get on top of it more

Fuck off tin pot twat

I think Luton utilised their assets well tbh. They knew we were a small side who liked to play on the deck.

What better way to take advantage of that than to fill the box with tall lads. To be fair to that Doughty, his delivery was excellent and we were fortunate not to have conceded more from them. They also pressed hard and high and stopped us playing through the lines.

We may be a bit snobbish as we’ve been fortunate enough to see some excellent football this season, with quick passing and moments of magic, without the need for ‘playing it up to the big man’.

I wish Luton all the best, they’re a small club batting way above their average, we can have no complaints after last night.

Don’t ALWAYS give you a true picture - get it right if you’re going to quote others.

Come on then Stephen Fry, where have I failed in my grip of the English language?

It'll work for you at your place against a team of injured midgets. It won't work at Wembley. We'll be seeing you again next season.

Why would you use stats like you did, if they don't always give a true picture? To suit your revelling in Sunderlands defeat agenda?

Luton did a job on us, bully us, get it wide and high.
Amazed they didn’t do it up here, it’s what I expected.
We didn’t turn up, but no regrets we had a great season and let’s go again, it was fun.

You constantly say people are “twining” about the referee. Makes no sense. I believe the word you are looking for is “whining”.

Happy to help.
